He'd be out of our reach I assume. Would be very happy with him though.

Imagine KM goes Brighton and we get De Zerbi, take 6 points off em and finish above them.

I thought this was a good piece on why De Zerbi's time at Brighton came to an end (and why I can't honestly see him here, as much as football be cray-cray). Have my fingers crossed he smashes the Chelsea interview.

Think I am leaning more towards Ole Gunnar Solskjær now. Great pals with Kieran, so he would be more than happy to give him all the info.

I really hope KMcK does not read TWTD. Voting on his successor when at the moment it is all media speculation - URGH!
Oh for the world before social media and the internet.

Thats a bit of an odd take.

The poll is titled 'If' and Mckenna quite clearly is being sought after and is interested even if the nature of it all is just speculation.

Do you think Ahston and co don't have a shortlist of replacements. They probably continually have a list that they are updating on a regular basis ever siince he started being successul as he was always going to start attracting interest and could have left at any point.

Hmm. Perhaps personality-wise it might be rather a shift from the calm, quite unemotive McKenna.

Michael Carrick.

Very good manager, almost identical tactical principles as KMc, would be a really good appointment.

Also loved him as a player, thought he was a really joy to watch.

Really his agent and himself could stop the speculation just like that but have choose not to.
I have little sympathy.

I downvoted it because it was an idiotic suggestion in my opinion.

He's a highly rated young manager who just finished in the top 5 in Serie A and qualified for the Champions League and you're putting him out there as someone we are likely to get. It's just pointless posting from you.

As for the rest of it, the issues you had before were all of your own making, it's totally unacceptable for you to accuse me of being the issue when it's you who were causing great offence to the family of a Town player and generally winding up most of the forum with your posts - there is a reason why so many had you on ignore.

Now cut it out and take some responsibility for your own actions.

SB

SB the OP doesn't say who are we likely to get. I also didn't say likely to get I just named a name of a young manager who's football sounds similar to what KM likes. I.e keeper involved in the football etc. I wasn't really looking at what clubs he's linked with.

Oh and no I wasn't talking about Burns it was the needless arguing which is happening again here because you can't leave me alone.

such as?

I've taken issue with those suggesting Carrick as i don't think he is all that but it is far from a shocking suggestion.

If we're looking for a bigger 'name' whilst still keeping with the same style/values - Graham Potter.

If we're looking for another young gun with the same style/values - Danny Rohl or Anthony Barry.

Do I really have to explain why Thiago Motta is not a realistic managerial target for Ipswich Town? Would you like it in words or crayon?

And yes, 'keep'.

Oh wow 3 across different days. Oh how horrible.

3 times daily. You'd have a point.

I will keep as you call it, mentioning him occasionally yes as he is an available manager and could be in Ashtons thoughts. He might not be at all too.

Potter would probably be my choice but sadly probably unrealistic.

Carrick and Rosenoir I find underwhelming, How many managers get offered Premier League jobs after bang average seasons in the championship? I think the only Championship manager worthy of consideration is Cifuentes who took a shambolic QPR side and made them very decent in a few months.

Rob Edwards managed only 26 points with Luton, not something that would make me confident that he'd be able to do better with the current Town squad and additions Mark Ashton can make. We'd need a lot of clubs having points deductions for that total to keep us up.

Moyes is old school and would probably do better than most of the aforementioned candidates but is not the young coach profile we're likely to be looking for.

Hopefully this is all academic and KM leads us into the new season.

That's four numbnuts. One was your OP on the subject.

You're like Ipswich's very own version of Baby Reindeer.

Only less literate.

Not quite. You haven't offered me a drink.

BTW your 4th one doesn't show up. Hence the 3

I'm happy with. Tbh happy if it's 5 or 6. I've seen some mention Carrick 3 4 times today alone. So I'm happy with the volume.

I shall have a diet coke please

Potter is my first choice too

My suggestion on an earlier thread is Albert Stuivenberg, Assistant Manager at Arsenal.

Good article about him here:

Well sadly it’s looking like Wayne Rooney won’t be in the mix…:

Unbelievable that there’s someone who still thinks he’s not a complete fraud.
