I never believed he would join Chelsea or Brighton, especially Chelsea as he wouldn't have a say on transfers.
I wasn't convinced Man U have ever really been interested in him, but if they had been and offered him the role then I did believe he would move to Man U. He would know if he turned them down, he would never get another chance of that job. |  | | |

Based on so much external news I thought he was gone. The tipping point was when Phil was saying how close to Palace he really was in Jan thats when I thought he wouldn't stay.
Whilst its easy in hindsight to say don't listen to external noise as a fan thats not easy as journalists you believed would be credible seemed to just be posting stuff were they hadn't really verified the source enough. Maybe that source was the agent.
A good lesson I think for us fans but it's deeply unsettling all the noise and hard to ignore. | | | |

I had no idea of course, but wasn't going to worry about unverified rumours on social media. If I was putting money on what's happened (beyond the new deal), I'd guess that Man U are lining him up for future. From what we know about him that's probably the prize he wants. And if Man U really do think he's the next big thing, they need to be getting their hooks in now. |  |
