Gallagher is 28 so in his prime you'd think. I really think Hirst is going to smash the Prem so maybe Hirst, Gallagher and Al-Hamadi.
Would then allow us to spend more elsewhere presuming Gallagher would be cheap(ish). |  |

From the limited amount I've seen of him, he's the heavyweight version of Hirst, and consequently not so mobile. Decent, but not what we need I think. |  |

Also I thought it strange at the time , at the end of March when we played Blackburn away, Gallagher didn’t play nor was he even on the bench , yet he started both the game before and the game after ( just 3 days later) , leading the line on his own.

Much as I love Ali's attitude, I'm not convinced that his finishing is good enough. For me, he needs a season on loan in the Championship getting regular minutes. It made sense to get him in January, but that was a big step for him and he only got limited minutes, so jury still out.
As for Sam Gallagher, I don't see him as an upgrade on George Hirst. I really rate Hirst, think he is gonna do really well in the Prem, but the methodology has been to ship out the weakest players and bring in new ones better that anyone in the building. That isn't Sam Gallagher. |  |
