More ticketing move balls ups on 18:23 - Jun 10 with 11328 views | tonybied | It's harsh on fans affected but what option do the club have? This work has to happen to be eligible to join the Premier League. Whatever way you cut it someone is going to have to be moved and either loose a seat they've held for a long time or end up with poor seats (perhaps even both). This is all just the price of success. Some people are going to have to deal with it, our best hope for a cure to this is continued success allowing for ground redevelopment bringing more and better seating options.

Given the fact we were in top 2/play off contention for pretty much the whole season, which was guaranteed around March time, the communication could’ve come out a lot better than what it has, rather than an email and free for all the next day.

I’m not too fussed about moving - as long as I get a decent view there’s no problem. The free for all tomorrow pisses me off tbh, particularly when I only found out at 4pm today. To be honest I’d rather they just allocate me seats and let me ask to be moved if I’m not happy with what they’ve offered

With the club recruiting for a Media and Comms Exec it will be interesting to see if this leads to an improvement in the Comms side of things. That team is really good at the media/social media side of stuff but across memberships, Norwich away tickets and now seat moves they haven't been as good at the comms side of stuff. Difficult when you're asking a small team to be good at everything so hopefully an uplift will see a more proactive comms approach on issues that are likely to cause concern amongst fans.

What about if a family has been split up leaving two kids sat alone without parent? Without evening looking they’ve put the cut off of seats in place. [Post edited 10 Jun 2024 19:05]

Not sure why they didn’t allocate seats to vulnerable people or families. They’ll be able to see peoples ages, if there’s 1adult and 3 kids, why is 1 adult and 1 kid being moved, and the 2 kids left on their own? Also, you can see if someone has an OAP ticket, these people should’ve been phoned and explained too. Not sent a generic email telling them to pick a seat (and that they are not guaranteed to sit next to their grandchild)

If you have what I have, them if you click on an area section it should open to show what is available, which is pretty much the worst seats in the stadium, particularly if you need 2 or more

Talking of friends and family… I assume the club have moved all those freebie players hanger on tickets to restricted view before moving season ticket holders… of course not

Yeah course not…. The only seats left are the worst seats in the stadium as someone has already said. Hate criticising the club, but it’s hard not too in this case

I think I am probably the same. I guess I will have to surrender the other seat and move with my son up into the cloud's to seats with restricted views. Someone will gain a good front view seat next to a journalist ! Price of success, I guess.

If they don’t want a ST there are plenty of other people who do

That is just a nonsense thing to say. Folk with season tickets for very good seats are now being put behind every other season ticket holder, they have every right to be annoyed. It seems like the club are not even throwing them a bone - one fixture in one of the new executice boxes would have at least softened the blow. But it seems thd club are completely unapolgetic about the whole process which is very insensitive.

How bad are those restricted views at the back of the West stand? I’ve always preferred sitting side on but am now thinking that I may need to go behind the goal to get a better view

It seems a bit beyond some on here to be able to comprehend that it's possible that a) these were necessary moves the club was right to make and b) that the communication of said moves has been a poor show and reflects badly on the club.

Any row from about S backwards means the roof blocks you from seeing the big screen. The pillars aren't that bad but can be annoying when you have to keep moving from side to side to follow the ball.

The option that the club had was to consult with fans prior to photos of their seats being ripped out on social media appeared. It has been shambolic. I completely understand that the structure would need to change to accommodate more away fans. Speaking as a D block season ticket holder for nearly 10 years, we stuck with the crap years thinking that if we ever made it, we’d have some of the best seats in the ground. Friends have had season tickets since D block was formed, and they didn’t even get the pathetic email that was sent out. There is no equivalent option. Many of us couldn’t get through on the phone on the Tuesday that we were advised to call, with the option to arrange premium seats in one of the other two areas, West ‘Y’ and South ‘X’. Block Y had gone except for RV seats before midday, and they don’t come close to the D block package. Yes, we’re just going to have to deal with it, but I’m sure most fans wouldn’t be happy with losing their seat if there is no equivalent other option. I think it’s a bit harsh to suggest that if you don’t like it, give your seat up to somebody else in the queue. It’s certainly taken the edge off promotion for those affected, largely due to the manner in which it has been handled.

Sounds like the club needs to communicate better, but you may well still get those best seats in the house when the new stand’s built. It’s got to be better than now, as the space in that stand is very sub-par. That assumes the club gives you first choice to go back in roughly the same area though - they should do if they’ve got any sense.

Not too bad at all - after all the existing press box is about the back 10 rows of Pioneer.
