but didn't want to derail the thread. Also, it's a bit blooming boring at the moment so here goes, re comedy.
I admit to being a hard man to please re comedy shows. I have walked out of a Frank Skinner show and a Reginald D Hunter show because they just weren't hitting the spot.
My favourite comedian at this time is Dan Tiernan, I saw him the other week in Leicester Square. Absolute nutter.
Overall though, the two most funniest comedians I have seen live were Jethro and Rob Brydon.
Tht was intersting wasn't it.

Mmmm
Not sure if you are winding me up here.
I can't stand Jimmy Carr. I saw Peter Kaye at O2 a few months back and he was blooming awful.
Moan moan moan
Well I enjoyed Jimmy Carr. He deals with hecklers very well. I just thought Peter Kaye would be good. He wrote Phoenix Nights so how can he not be funny! Maybe he appeals to Northern demographic

I love Phoenix Nights but I have never liked his stand up.
Coogan is a bit similar, I love most things he does as a sit com but he lacks a bit when live IMHO..........
.........Although Coogan did sign my daughters tits with a marker pen which was appreciated by the family.

The most I've ever laughed is when I saw Andy Parsons at the Fat Cat in Bury St Edmunds. I missed several jokes because I was nearly being sick laughing at the last one.

Would like to see Rob live, my favourite i've seen is Billy Connolly
I have a Scottish Mediterranean Greek friend who was mad on Billy Connolly, personally I never could get him.
I also had a nutty Scots mate who had some very difficult times when he was in Glasgow. He was on the Proddy side but had a lot of family on the other side. He got kidnapped by a section of his own family, taken to a Catholic church and severely beaten up.
Of course the guy could be talking a load of sh1te but he told me one night that a similar thing happened to Billy Connolly.
I guess it can all be taken with a pinch of salt, who knows.

Another vote for Mickey Flanagan for me, though a couple I saw a very long time ago who were very good was Jasper Carrot and Lenny Henry, yes Lenny Henry back in the days prior to his TV shows and all the other stuff he ended up doing.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
Sean Lock (RIP). Genius live, but then I laughed my tits off at Kevin bloody Wilson, Chubby Brown and Jim Davidson so who am I to say what is funny or not. Peter Kay was dreadful at the O2 so in agreement with you there.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.

Dave Allen always used to make me laugh. So did Jasper Carrot. These days I like a bit of sarcasm so Jimmy Carr is up there. Rob Brydon's always good value and so is Tom Allen
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I've long suspected that without Neil Fitzmaurice and Dave Spikey, Peter Kay just isn't that funny. They co-wrote Phoenix Nights (and, prior to that, That Peter Kay Thing) with him. Conversely, Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere (vastly inferior) was co-written with Paddy McGuinness. I rest my case. (Full disclosure: some of his misheard lyrics are priceless. But that's about it)

The misheard lyrics thing is as old as the hills though and was doing the rounds when he was in short trousers.

I saw Jerry Sadowitz earlier this year. I only went because I knew he'd been banned from Edinburgh. I deliberately didn't look up any of his stuff first. He was very funny, spared absolutely no group or person but I think I left in some kind of physical shock! I was particularly taken by the guy in front constantly making sideways glances at his wife to see if she was finding the same things funny that he was. I don't think it's something I'd do again but pleased I did.
Dave Gorman is excellent live but admittedly not everyone's cup of tea. I do admire how Al Murray works an audience, it's formulaic but very clever.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

You've reminded me, I left at half time at Dave Gormans Googlewhack show as well.
On the other side of things, I actually forgot to go and see Micky Flanaghan despite having tickets.
Ditto Chrissie Hynde.
