Hladky news doesn't sound too positive 12:04 - Jun 25 with 10909 viewsitfcjoe

A friend put his interview in Czech through subtitle generator, then translator so it;s not easy to read but you can get the gist of it:

Nothing signed, due back on Monday, has to weight up options, KM wants him to stay and surprised at how powers that be have negotiated with his agent. But he'll have to sit down with wife and weigh up offer etc

It's Monday the 24th.
June, that means in 6 days, at least according to
to the Transformarkt server, your contract ends, you will be out of a job.
Is it true?
It's true, I'm already finding out the address of the employment office
here in Brno and I'm on my toes. 1.
In July, as they say, preparation begins in earnest
England, but you don't know if you will be part of it.
I don't know, I don't know.
and I don't even know when I'll know.
No, I think that such a deadline is real
on the 36th, when my contract ends and that's it
I think Saturday, if I'm not mistaken, and actually Monday
we are starting training, so it's like
it blends nicely, or builds on each other, and I think
that within this week I should know 100%
if it will be Ipsilic, or if it will be something else.
I'm from VNM, but I've had a successful season, I think
if I have such and such a value, I would like to
scrolled here and here, I like such and such
countries choose from this or is it that simple?
I think that there are several such strategies and
each person, each player is actually completely different.
Just like you said, everyone has a preference
another country, another rating, etc.
If I took it specifically as myself, then
we've had it since...
What we started dealing with Ipswich o
new contract in January, that's it
given clearly that we preferred Ipsvitch that
I want to stay in Ipswich, I want to extend.
And at this moment the situation is a little
she changed because the negotiations are tough.
and not exactly how we expected it to play out.
So at this moment we have that strategy
set up so that any offer will land on us
table, so we'll sit down for a few days and evaluate
you have practically everything for and against.
And it's not like...
and I would prefer this or that destination or league.
It really is that whatever comes,
so we just sit down and on the one hand with the managers
and on the one hand, my wife and I will evaluate it.
So you are a little surprised that the votes from the party
The Ipswich ones are a little different now than the ones you had
maybe they were hinted at after the season ended.
You probably had a one-to-one with a manager who you
did he say outright if he counts on you or not?
Even the 10.
In June, when I was there in person, I am with the manager
lined up and we explained for a long time how we see it, how
he sees the following season as he sees my role, but the result
of it is that he wants me to continue at 100%.
And he was a little surprised how the club.
he conducts the negotiations with my manager, so he too
he took, or rather told me he would talk about it
with the management and will actually clarify the things from which
circumstances should I continue and so on.
So let's see, I would divide it into two halves.
We and the coaching staff are united and that's it
but in fact we still can't find common ground with the club.

Weird, that it seems to be. A club like Ipsilic cant decide if they want me and his team. Maybe the role is to be not the No1 and for a successful season I wish for not 2. And of course there is much scrolling over the spondulics they wish to send to me.

Don’t worry, it’ll all become clear on the 36th.

He's suggesting McKenna isn't too pleased with the way Ashton is negotiating? Is that right?

Maybe the American owners aren't content with handing 3yr deals to 33-34yo's with zero resale value?

I'd have thought they probably think we are in a strong negotiating position given his background and the fact this is comfortably the highest level he has played at and the biggest contract he will have ever signed. Surely it is going to take a big offer (that I can't see) from elsewhere for him to give up a season in the PL.

I wonder if it depends on whether we have another keeper lined up, and we are offering Hladky a No2 contract.

He would have a lot of suitors in the top end of the Championship that would given him a big signing on fee, and a decent wage.

Whats Rushworth like?

I assume he has a reputation as being good with his feet?

Bit of a gamble as a No1?

Agree to differ on that one.

Played a pivotal role in a promotion winning team, available on a free transfer. He wont be short of takers.

If he is stalling over a contract, then he clearly has other lucrative offers on the table.

Hladky had a very good season, but,IMO, GK is deffo an area we can and should upgrade on. I'd obviously wish him well, but wouldn't be too disappointed if he was to leave.

Sh8t with his feet, but a really good shot stopper and maybe he can be coached to suit our style. Or maybe we'll be changing how we play.

yeah, big gamble for number 1, although he's young with lots of room to improve, which KM seems to like.

Wow, the last thing I was expecting was that he would be cr4p with his feet!!

We don't have a good record in signing keepers for the Premier League.

I didn't take that from it. I understood that from the playing side it is clear that we want him and he is happy to stay. The negotiations have not yet come to a fruitful conclusion. It really shouldn't be that complicated. Surely, we would have had an offer prepared some time ago knowing he was going out of contract. We should have signed him up to a longer contract in January. Maybe it just makes sense for him to wait a little bit to see whether he will be the number one. He could even start the season as no. 1 and we bring in a decent money signing who would presumably become no. 1. Hladky needs a 3 year deal for a club who are looking to play him as their number one.

I can't see there being a queue of top end Championship clubs wanting to make him number 1 and pay him a really top Championship wage (commensurate with a number 2 PL wage) on a 2/3 year contract. But yes, agree to differ!

The wage might be lower, but with a higher signing on fee.

Being No1 at this stage of his career might be a priority.

These are all factors that will be considered, and it seems they are being considered.

If he didn't have good offers on the table, he would have signed by now.

Disagree, keepers who play with their feet to the standard he does are in demand.

He may not be quite good enough for the Premiership although we thought he and others would not make the step up to the Championship so what do we know.

Free transfer means he will get a million or more up front signing on fee from saved transfer fee and a decent contract. He is more than good enough for 90% of teams in the Championship.

Martyn Margetson, the Swansea and England goalkeeping coach, has no doubts about the career path of Rushworth. “Carl has a lot of strengths,” Margetson says. “His in-possession game and technical goalkeeping are strong. It’s difficult to pick just one strength, but he is also a strong character mentally. He has all the attributes to be a top Premier League goalkeeper.

“He can be an international goalkeeper, no doubt about it. He has the mindset and mentality to his work and I find him really coachable. It is his ambition to play in the Premier League and play at international level. He will reach the highest level.”

I think we under estimate how other clubs view what we achieved last season and how we achieved it and are probably the model to success discussed in many board rooms up and down the country.

If clubs can have a piece of one of the main components of that success to try and replicate what we have done over the last 18 months then they will jump at the chance of signing him.

Not saying clubs won't be interested in him but I'd just be very surprised if top end Championship clubs go all out to sign him. Of course, the alternative view is that at 33 years old he had the massive outlier season of his career.

We will see I guess.
