Sort of started yesterday and already fed up l, haven’t had bread, a chocolate bar or packet of crisps for two days
Trying to stay off all of the above plus sweet and savoury pastries, sweets and full fat drinks etc.
Trying to make small changes and better options… a bowl of cereal in the morning instead of a Greggs! A couple of boiled eggs instead of a pasty mid morning and some fruit in the afternoon instead of a packet of crisps.
Anyone have any good substitutes or healthy food stuff that are actually tasty?
There is a good argument that staying off everything nice is, in the end, counter productive, unless you are absolutely focussed and dedicated on something like being an athlete etc.
Best way to put on weight is deprive yourself of everything nice for a week and then stuff yourself because its miserable.
Nothing wrong with bread. Especially wholemeal.
(parental advisory on the video.... which i cant make work. Go to YT and search mulligainz foods are poison)
Nearly everyone when you say you want to eat healthy says stay off bread!
But like redrick says in moderation it’s probably ok? I’d have a sandwich for lunch then have two burgers up at McDs in the evening on a Friday for example.

Ignore them.

Pretty much every argument against bread has been debunked.
Wholemeal bread provides vitamins, minerals, fibre and other good things. Low carbers/paleo diet people have a lot to answer for.
Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to eat less processed food? Once you establish the reason why, then you go for the what do I currently eat? Why do I eat what I do, convenience? Habit? Simplicity?
Then look at what you do other than eat; work, exercise? When do you eat, what time, is it boredom that causes snacking? Then look at portion sizes
Remember there is NO quick fix, if you are overweight you did not become overweight overnight, you became overweight overtime.
To lose weight is all down to less calories in, more calories out.
Once you have reviewed yourself and see where you have been, then see where you want to go and how to get there.
Eating healthily does not have to be onerous, just a slow change of habits, breaking old ones and creating new ones
All very generic as cannot be specific without more info.

Do you want to lose weight? Yes. Want to lose a bit and feel a bit healthier.
Do you want to eat less processed food? Probably
What do I currently eat? Too much sugary sh!t, takeaways and other stuff mentioned in OP.
Why do I eat what I do, convenience? Habit? Simplicity? All of the above
Then look at what you do other than eat; work, exercise? Eat a lot at work, on the road it’s easy to eat sh!te and usually cheaper!
When do you eat, what time, is it boredom that causes snacking? Pretty good with times usually, I’m up at 5 in the week, and maybe have breakfast around 7/8 once I get going, can’t eat as soon as I get up.
Then look at portion sizes… Way bigger than they have to be. I managed to eat 8 sausages one dinner time last week 5 on me plate with mash and veg, 3 whilst Saïd plate warmed up.
Energy and concentration. You could go like 16-18 hours without eating if you skip it. This means you appetite and metabolism can't stay regulated. This can lead to overeating later in the day, that affects sleep.
Most studies suggest those who regularly eat breakfast are of lower weight than those who skip it.
I have no idea why people cut out bread. Obviously don't eat wonder bread but there's nothing wrong with proper wholemeal bread.
Get some decent spices to liven your food up.
Meal prep if you have time.
Plan meals around healthy foods you actually like. Sounds obvious but you have to enjoy your meals.
its easy carbs & gluten though, which means its easy weight loss or gain depending on how you approach eating it, and some of the cheap supermarket bread isnt great for you.
but the reality is just eat smaller portions of stuff, its not about avoiding unhealthy food, no chip diets or anything, just eat less of everything, or eat in moderation.
