I also eat quite a bit of Greek yoghurt with sliced apples in it. I should probably eat more fish, I did have some nice Tilapia last night though.

J2 will be on to you about bread asap I don’t mind a yogurt but has to have some flavour. Also don’t mind a bit of fish but as previously mentioned it’s usually the battered variety. Where I’ve gone wrong is a I always have 2 large battered sausages and a large chips, instead of like when I was younger, one small battered sausage and a small chips. Greed.

My downfall is boiled eggs, I sometimes eat 10 in one go. Get onto Greek yoghurt and forget about flavoured sh1t.

I have never been a fish fan, unless fried. Joys of growing up with a fish and chip shop in the family! Way too easy to scoff them down. I went to the chip shop a couple of weeks ago and bought a couple of jumbo sausages and small chips to share with the little one, nearly 9 quid. WTAF??

Aren’t boiled eggs good though? Maybe not 10 of them at once, I have 2 at a time usually.

Yeah it’s gone silly everywhere. Used to get a lot for a fiver in the chippy. Impossible anywhere these days. Talking of takeaway I might get a shish kebab tonight, lamb and chicken, salad and a squirt of garlic sauce. Also want to try the KFC rice box, will be weird ordering that.

Probably, that's why I don't get too stressed about it. Thankfully I haven't got a sweet tooth. Tonight I have two of the biggest pork chops you have ever seen and I will eat these with a can of baked beans. When I gave up smoking many years ago I went up to 18 stone, I am normally 15.5 stone. I managed to shed a bit by going on the Atkins diet but ultimately started smoking again. I think I am going to go on those diabetic injections for weight loss. My mates saughter has been on them for two months and she has lost 22lb

Healthy eating… on 16:17 - Jun 26 with 1735 views | hype313 | I've been fasting for two years, eat between 12-6, have two meals a day, generally eat eggs, meat, fish, avocado's and replaced crisps with mixed nuts, weight has fallen off and feel so much better. I avoid most bread bar sourdough as the rest, even wholemeal is advertised as healthy but is still laced with additives/preservatives and loads of other nasties you don't need in your system.

Healthy eating… on 15:24 - Jun 26 by mutters | I sense you're a carb fan. 😂 It's not about demonizing carbs, it's about the correct diet for you. Low carb diets have been proven to be very effective in both weight loss and also managing blood glucose. I am going to go with Michael Mosley on this one. |
I believe people should pick a diet they enjoy and base it around whole foods. If that is higher carb then fine, as long as the carbs are good quality and not gummy bears etc. If that is higher fat, no problem. I know it's effective. Sitters wants healthy changes. He's not training for the Olympics. Wholemeal bread isn't going to hurt anyone who wants to eat it.

People need to find a diet that works, else they will fall off the wagon. Ultimately with weight loss you need to consume less than you burn, so if you get that through fat, carbs or protein that's your choice. The akins diet was the precursor of low carb diets, and it did work but after a while steak got very dull. Exciting at first but just eating meat was very dull indeed. Plus he died of a heart attack due to high fat. You just can't win 😂😂

I once stuck to Atkins for 6 months so know it's effective. Had the same issue though, couldn't look at another damn egg by the end of it.

I just spoke to my mate. Monjauro is the injection his daughter is using, it's just over £200 a month. I think I'm going to give it a go. I had to do a video last week and I couldn't believe how heavy I looked.

I'd rather be obese than inject myself with that. [Post edited 26 Jun 2024 17:24]

Why? Surely the impact of being obese is much worse than having a weekly injection?

Healthy eating… on 20:47 - Jun 26 with 1386 views | Vegtablue | Good luck to you Sitters. Junk ( / naughty) food is carefully engineered to electrify the taste buds and deliver extra-large dopamine hits, such that it's very difficult for normal food to compete for your tongue or brain's affection. In a food Olympics they'd be the disgraced drug cheats. And because junk food contains little fibre or nutritional value, the body processes its meal very quickly for the amount of calories consumed and soon demands more; it feels short-changed. For these reasons, some people find it easier to eliminate junk food for a while when committing to a lifestyle change. It starts off hard, as the body craves the sugar and fat dumps it had become accustomed to, but by the second or third week people tend to reap the mental and physical benefits from their 'sacrifices'. Taste buds also reset themselves somewhat over a fortnight or more without the junk, turning normal food tastier. Also, lean heavily on your herb/spice rack if you need to, it's invaluable for whacking the flavour up, as is xylitol/stevia in small quantities if you're missing the sweet stuff. Typing in 'healthy affordable meals' gives lots of suggestions on the Google main page, hopefully some of those appeal. I love my porridge and often combine it with protein powder, milk, banana, cinnamon, nuts etc. etc.. sometimes I'll microwave it for extra long and it turns into a flapjack lol, or at least I tell myself that. If you plan to combine healthier choices with visiting the fast food chains or other restaurants regularly, I especially recommend tracking your calories and weighing yourself weekly. Losing weight is simple science when you have a good amount of fat to lose. An online calorie deficit calculator will roughly guess how many calories are needed to maintain your weight, then shoot for 500-1000 less per day (recalculating as you get smaller on the scales or otherwise). It feels a lot of effort to begin with but you'll soon become much more knowledgeable on calories / serving sizes etc., speeding your calculations up no end. The 10K daily steps suggestion is also a great one if you can come close to it, in conjunction with healthier eating. Even carving out 30 mins a day to walk will see benefits, 1 hour even better. Finding a music station or podcast you like to listen to and locking this behind a 'walking paywall' works for many. You'll definitely become fitter by walking more. Lastly, the greatest benefit of no bread, no breakfast, no snacking, or other methods is that, for some people, they help with self-control or regulating hunger, making it easier for them to stick to their calorie target. You don't need to adopt any of these strategies to be successful, apart from hitting your own calorie target consistently and incorporating healthier foods while you do it. You know yourself best and if you'd benefit from extra or less discipline. For me, prioritising good sleep is #1 for better choices when awake, rather than when and how often I eat. Apologies if this is all very obvious to you already!

But it has to be dark chocolate with cocoa content above seventy percent. Ideally just a couple of squares a day, but I have yet to bring my consumption down from a couple at lunch and a couple at supper. https://zoe.com/learn/dark-chocolate-health-benefits

Healthy eating… on 11:50 - Jun 27 with 1139 views | WeWereZombies | You might want to follow the Greek yoghurt advice a few have given n the thread so far but I hardly ever buy yoghurt now that I have discovered kefir, never have it for breakfast though as I more more likely to have a hundred or so millilitres / grammes an hour or so before bedtime. Calms the gut a treat. https://zoe.com/learn/what-is-kefir Yeo Valley and Biotiful both do varieties you can find in bigger supermarkets but I think the most affordable and least mucked around with are the Polish ones that you can find in the 'continental' food sections and it is one thing the Co-op are not so bad in stocking.
