The positive thing is, this must mean Omari is open to returning here on a permanent transfer - something I didn't think was always a certainty given how ambitious he is.

Unless the player has made it clear he wants a permanent move. I certainly would with that number of players ahead of me. | |

So this is Chelsea inviting clubs to put and offer in which had a buy back clause in it. |
That crossed my mind.
Although at that level, you'd want the buy back fee to be at least double the purchase price (including any add ons paid).
Right to resist it. Suspect only a lower Prem side would agree to it.
Also..... I suspect Omari would choose a move to Ipswich / McKenna over any other newly promoted / lower Prem side, at which point any buy back offer becomes irrelevant. [Post edited 27 Jun 2024 20:34]

They have Palmer and Madueke in that position already.
Madueke picked up a bit of form towards the end of the season so suspect that’s why they’re happy to let him go.
And regardless of what Sky says, strongly suspect they do need to sell. Just Chelsea briefing sky so that they don’t get their pants pulled down by clubs knowing they’re desperate. | | | |
