Leeds Archie Gray - £40m to Brentford on 18:14 - Jun 29 with 4436 views | Asa | Imagine how infuriated Leeds fans will be they have to sell one of their own to little old Brentford lol. Massive club and all that. Just a bit weird Leeds have to sell anyone at all having been promoted six times last season. Doesn’t that mean they got about £750m?
Leeds Archie Gray - £40m to Brentford on 18:14 - Jun 29 with 4434 views | HairBearBunch | Blimey - didn't see that one happening. Name asides, Leeds are getting a big chunk of ££ for someone that young. Maybe it'll help them keep their very potent front line intact for next season.
Leeds Archie Gray - £40m to Brentford on 18:14 - Jun 29 with 4434 views | BarcaBlue | Leeds fans are so deluded, must be the only people in the country who didn't think their club was in the brown stuff financially.

Whilst I absolutely despise Birmingham and obviously Norwich, I don’t think another set of fans comes as close as Leeds in terms of delusion or arrogance. You know that thing where most fans are decent and have one or two bells. I think every single one of the 100 or so Leeds fans I’ve met in my lifetime have been absolutely insufferable.

They did and tbh his family are Dirty Leeds through and through. But to lose him to Brentford??? He’s an excellent prospect and they’ll get their money back, but there is a delicious humiliation element for Leeds in this. It’ll hurt. Oh dear, so sad, never mind. Career wise the best move for him? Time will tell but I’d say not. [Post edited 29 Jun 2024 18:32]

Some of the Twitter threads today on it are as deluded as you’d expect given their arrogance. Little Brentford has been a common topic 😂

He's the grandson of Frank Gray and nephew of Eddie Gray. He is Leeds through and through. He would rather be playing for Leeds than Brentford in the Premier league. He had plenty of time to get there with Leeds. Definitely sold because Leeds are in the brown stuff financially. [Post edited 29 Jun 2024 19:25]

Why is this humiliating? Brentford are an established premier league team based in West London. Leeds are a championship team. Surely it’s a no brainer?
Leeds Archie Gray - £40m to Brentford on 20:57 - Jun 29 with 3129 views | BloomBlue | Good mgmt at Leeds, to get £40m for basically a player with one season in the championship is amazing. Don't think we have any players who works command, £40m.

There’s almost an element of paying extra for the potential. You get that with young players. Was Wickham’s performances for us equating to him going for 8 odd million at the time? That’s very debatable.

They also had a lot of clubs interested in Gray, Inc Liverpool & Spurs, that always helps with pushing the price up. Leeds also have Red Bull backing them now and there was a rumour late last week that RB were going to buy Gray for Salzburg at a high price so Leeds could fulfill the Financial rules if it became desperate, so that probably helped Leeds hold out for a larger fee

I think that’s a reasonable decision for him joining Brentford rather than a move to a bigger club. In an ideal world another season at Leeds would also be sensible for his development but Leeds obviously need to sell.

and apparently he has a younger brother who is supposed to be a better prospect than him..
Leeds Archie Gray - £40m to Brentford on 12:06 - Jun 30 with 2089 views | wkj | I think Leeds have to reduce by 70m this window and then 120m further by next close of business. So, if this deal and Summerville gets snapped up they should have a stay of execution.

Tottenham looking a more likely destination now.... on 12:09 - Jun 30 with 2074 views | Bloots | ...Brentford couldn't pay enough up front apparently. Seems a bit of a risk to me, I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I didn't really get all the hype about him last season.

Top top player who shone out of position at Leeds last season and only 18. Expect him to push on hugely once he plays where he should in the Premier.
