As I've said a couple of times, when you announce it has nothing to do with when it goes into the accounts. |
I know what you're saying and we all want the announcement to be made. However, if the contract begins tomorrow (as in the contract will be "signed" tomorrow) an announcement today would surely be premature? Ie, along the lines of "Town are pleased to announce that Omari will be joining the club permanently tomorrow. If he doesn't kick the bucket beforehand." Depends what the truths are though, to some chelsea have no reason to push for sales in June, so if that is true then theres no panic about getting the paperwork signed. BBC just said on the wireless deals can be completed today but not officially registered until tomorrow because today is a non working day at the FA/PL. However the date the paperwork is signed is accepted by the FA/PL. So the offical announcement maybe tomorrow but if the paperwork is dated today then it's included in the sustainability financial year that ends on June 30th.

That's it, £5M+ of wiggle room would show we were in a healthy position last season despite clearly pushing in January.
Chelsea will definitely want it concluded today if they remain behind PSR, but will want it tomorrow if they've already sorted themselves with other sales. For them it's very much a case of doing just enough each season to remain compliant, no benefit in 'overdoing it' when they want as big a budget as possible to play with in 24/25 and so on. | | | |

Yeah looks like it, finer minor details. I'm genuinely surprised at the grief I've got for asking the question though. Seems like it was a fair one to ask. Usually after journalists announce a deal it comes out officially later that day or the next, I guess this is such a big deal that it's taken a bit longer to iron all the bits and bobs out, which is fair enough. | |
