Ignore me. It’s obvious some of them are on drugs. Thinking we bought Hutch, in the deal announced this week, 2 years ago. lol. Utterly clueless and not very bright some of that lot. ‘They spent 70M - look here’s the proof’ (links to a transfer site that shows our signings last year were €4.7M).

I do find fans narratives on us change like the wind as well. One minute we will came straight back down as we have a league one squad and the next, we bought our way out of league one with a championship squad. |  |

Terrible thread lol, thought I'd be reading about their thoughts on the two targets. My only takeaways are that the majority of football fans have too much of a life to understand FFP in significant detail, and a surprising number of people place trust in the nonsense estimates provided by salary sites.
We know we were comfortably the biggest L1 spenders on and off the pitch in 22/23, as were we very competitive with the normal Championship clubs last season. When your revenue is higher than many around you and when the ownership is committed to extra investment in line with FFP rules, too right too. That's a different world to the one in which parachute clubs operate in, however, and that's what makes last season's success so extraordinary. |  | | |

Not just signed 13 players, 13 on loan. lol. That should have set the alarm bells ringing that they were writing ballocks, as you can only name 5 in the matchday squad. Why would anyone sign 13, effectively wasting 8 places in their registered squad?

Yeah, we did have a good wage budget for L1. One of the highest, if not the highest. We did bring down the ratio of wages to turnover to about 90% though from 114% from the year before, so those wages were more affordable. The losses that year were largely expected if I remember correctly, as there was a lot of expenditure trying to bring the facilities up to scratch after Evans' austerity.
We were obviously fine wrt FFP because of promotion, but I can't remember the ins and outs of where we stood regarding Profit and Sustainability in L1 (i.e. were we gambling or managing things sensibly?). | |
