Muric.. definitely a shot stopper 13:47 - Jul 13 with 6185 viewsFrimleyBlue

In his 10 appearences last season he had am 81% shot stopping %.

Long kicks seem to be a weapon.

Not sure how he is at the short stuff apart from one glaring error but they all make them.

Possibly a late developer. Before burnley he hadn't played alot and obv didn't play to much last season either but there's something there.

a niche perspective

He played the whole season when they won the Championship, they bought Trafford and he was relegated to the bench last season. Many Burnley fans believed Muric to be the better keeper out of the two and they were more solid when he came into the fold at the back end of the season.

From a review a couple of yrs back: "Plenty of saves, plenty of clean sheets and he's done that whilst displaying all the attributes of a modern goalkeeper. He was outstanding at the start of 2022, with excellent displays against Kayserispor and Gaziantep. And whilst he hasn't impressed as much since the last international break, as he's conceded 15 goals in the last 7 games, he's still had a very good season.

Is he a better shot-stopper than Ederson and Zack Steffen? Yes. He's particularly impressive at saving penalties.

Is he better with the ball at his feet? No, there isn't a 'keeper in world football that is as good as the Brazilian in that regard, but his passing is certainly better than Steffen's"

Well that's worrying for a start, following Vaz in his footsteps will be a huge ask though for any keeper..

Sky saying a deal for £10M agreed.

Looked good on the rare occasion I saw him play.

That’s not true at all?! Have a look at any Burnley fans opinion of him, say that it’s one of his best attributes how comfortable with the ball at his feet he is

He's made a number of mistakes with his feet last year, look at this

2min 25 seconds on is his Bryan Gunn / Robert Ullathorne moment, he's not even under a lot of pressure and the ball isn't hit fast. That is majorly concerning. Under pressure and with a faster ball he's even worse.

If we're spending 8m on this, then it's poor, we should have just have given Vas what he wanted and saved £8m in fees and had a better keeper to boot.

Vas also made mistakes with his feet. This bloke 8 yrs younger and may well be better when we defend dead balls.

That sounds very like a description of Vaz (aside from substituting Championship for the Premier League).

It’s a good point you make. We should definitely base a decision on a single error of judgement rather than trust in the mgmt team and scouts with their experience and knowledge.

Does anyone have a video of a GK playing regular who has never made a mistake?

I've spend 60+ years watching football and I'm still looking for a GK* who doesn't make the occasional mistake

*Just adding I've never seen any player not just a GK who doesn't make any mistakes, just a GK mistake looks worse as it often results in a goal.

Hladky, arguably our player of the season for some, made a couple of howlers - Watford being the biggest.

I’m worried about what they do over the course of a season. Every keeper has a howler in them.

Most here thought Walton shat the bed at Cheltenham, the only goal he conceded in about 800 minutes!

His best asset is his ability with the ball at his feet ?

Wtach his clips from Burnley in the championship. He was like an outfielder playing in goal.

Vas might be a better keeper “to boot” but maybe this guy is a better keeper to save.

Someone could ‘cherry pick’ footage of the errors Hladky made last season to try and make the same point about him.

Watford the worst? The free kick against nodge was terrible. He also made a lot of mistakes that did not lead to a goal.

What utter nonsense. His stats are really impressive for goals conceded. He looks a way better keeper than Hladky who did really well last season but in my opinion still looked on occasion a league 1 keeper.
