ST (2+1) - Hirst, Al-Hamadi, (Delap)
Have left out players I don't expect to be here wither permanently or on loan - Ladapo, Ndaba, Baggott etc
Leaves us at 20 senior players, with a limit of 25 so 5 spaces available to fill it if we choose to
GK - Assuming Muric signs, think we look to get Walton out on a perm, or Slicker out on loan and replace with an experienced keeper
RB - All set
LB - Do we get a back up to Davis? Sort of role a young PL loan may fill - or we let Clarke, Johnson, Greaves and Cam Humphreys cover it
CB - All set, potential Edmundson goes out and then may need replacing
CM - For me we need 2 more here, and does Taylor sit in with these guys or more with the 10s as we adapt to play more of an 8 in that role, or do we look to cash in on him?
RW - Is Delap seen as the back up here? If not we need one.
R10 - All set
L10 - Feel like we need one more for this role and Harness may make way. KM likes a dribbler (Edwards, Sarmiento) so feel as though we need another utility forward
ST - Al Hamadi to go out on loan? Or do we sign another top striker and use Delap in wing role and as 3rd striker?

My take
GK - loan Slicker and keep Walton as he’s probably about the most reliable back up and offers considerable value and security.
RB - agree all set
LB - I’d want a decent Lief back up. How many times I held my breath last season when Lief looked injured! I think the back up would get quite a few minutes. Maybe Burrows from Posh?
CB - agree all set. Quite happy to keep Edmundson.
CM - agree 2 more. This season likely to be Mass’ last dance. Needs to be bit of continuity planning. Massively important I think we strengthen this area
RW - Maybe Delap is the new Jackson. I think we’re ok and Hutchison can cover too.
R10 - agree all set
L10 - agree an upgrade needed
CF - one more needed. Hopefully someone good enough to move the dial significantly. |  | | |

I'd be surprised if we've gone from Ioannidis to Delap as our go to main man up top. Would think we will want some top level experience (whether PL or overseas). We absolutely need a LB.
Davis being that important makes a back-up even more important. The guy is a machine, but he also pushes himself to the limit - an injury to him, and everything tactically falls apart without a like-for-like.

Delap for me might be covering both RW and ST. He reminds me a little of Burns in the way he runs at defences, decent cross as well from what little I've seen.

I think the speed at which we are moving demonstrates there is still plenty of business to be done.
Assuming Muric signs, I think we would need a developmental LB/ LWB, 2 X CM, LW/CAM & ST.
I think we are fine at RW with Burns, Hutch & Delap all having played well out there.
I'd also be very surprised if Harness/ Al-Hamidi didn't go out on loan to the champ. | | | |
