The thought crossed my mind as well.
If it's true that we'd agreed a £40m double deal for him and Greaves, and we've just signed Greaves for £15m, that means we'd valued JP at £25m (regardless of the 'official' figure).
If the claims are true, that Villa are getting him for £18m, surely there's financial headroom to see just how much Villa really want him?
Although, if he's already chosen Villa over Town at the £18m figure, would it perhaps be counter-productive to scupper that deal in order to force him to come to ITFC? | |

Villa are playing with us to increase their percentage. Maybe ywe should up our bid to 35 million just for the fun of it and see if the Villa contact of matching the deal makes them sweat. Then if they pull out , we should withdraw our bid and look elsewhere -) [Post edited 16 Jul 2024 18:48]
