The point is learning the lesson of what happened here. The inability of the opposition to put up an electable candidate means there is effectively no contest. It's a dereliction of duty by the Democrats.

No I hadn’t heard that. I’m not surprised though. He’s no longer box office is he. Hopefully he’ll retire on the millions he made off the back of his disastrous PMship and we’ll never hear of him again (I can avoid the Telegraph or wherever he’s now writing).

Been suggested by American friends he will gone by weekend. They hope he makes an announcement as Trump stands up to make his nomination acceptance speech. Guess we will find out in the morning.

When you think how this sort of thing was satirized in America like that over forty years ago, it illustrates quite well how far humanity has regressed since then.
