I understand how a ballot works.
If I am truthful, I just feel annoyed that my lad (more than me) may miss out on a ticket and felt that the club should have done better with how they rewarded members last season. There's a point system for away games, but nothing for home.
Anyway, I understand why they've done it this way (£££) but doesn't mean I can't feel a little bit sorry for myself :-) |
The assumption here is that those who were successful are less deserving than you & your son which isn't necessarily the case. I'm sure we can all talk about how many games we went to as members (home & away last season) or the reasons why we don't have a season ticket but used to during the dark day etc.
I was lucky on this occasion but I don't expect to be continually across the season. Hopefully the club will allocate to previously unsuccessful entrants in the advent of a tie going forward. | | | |

That depends on how you are measuring ‘deserving’?
I would say that in my opinion, someone attending 1 game isn’t as deserving as someone attending 23, 15, 10 etc…and that’s the issue, the club haven’t addressed that.
Just like me attending 5 away games last season make me less deserving than the fans who attended 10/15 and there’s a points system to back that up.
Anyway, genuine congrats to those who were lucky enough, certainly isn’t their fault and hopefully I’ll get mine on Monday. |  | | |

You say that, but a couple of years ago I had a spare ticket vs Wigan in Block Y West stand (the proper posh padded seats) as I wasn't able to go and I actually couldn't give it away for free!
Anyway, I'm just in a huff that I missed out this time and I'm playing my "yeah, but I was there when we were s*#t" card.
I never thought I'd see the day that you couldn't get a ticket for an Ipswich game ever again, so I'm going to stop whingeing now and be thankful that the club is in this position. |  | | |

Everyone wants the criteria to be different to favour them. I've missed most of the good recent times but was there when we were crap under Keane, MM, Jewell, Lambert.
Out of everyone, I feel sorry for Rommers. Up and down the country during the sh1t years and celebrated results like 1-1 away at Barnsley (scenes!) and now won't be going to many away games.
