Ashton chairman AND CEO?!

Not sure how I feel about that. Could become quite the Portman Road echo chamber.

I've always been of the understanding that O'Leary has been beneficial in keeping Ashton in check at times. I guess we'll see if Ashton really has learnt from his time at Bristol City now.

Yeah not a fan of Ashton having no answer other than the Americans, all they care about is the money side and leave everything to those at the club, which itself has been good, but then who's Ashton going to answer to?

a niche perspective

Just surprised it’s been 20 mins since the news broke and Elephant hasn’t yet been on to claim this is a cost-cutting measure and the beginning of the end for ITFC.

I know it might be a bit unusual for a Chairman, particularly one who hasn't been here for very long, but might I suggest a chant or two of appreciation for him at the Liverpool game? He's engineered a takeover and then overseen an incredible transformation of this club which has given most of us (some of) the best ITFC years of our lives.

"One Mike O'Leary, there's only one Mike O'Leary..."

or

"Thanks, Michael O'Leary, thanks, Michael O'Leary..." (7NA)

maybe?

Big chance of the Liverpool lads joining in, to support RyanAir and their cheap flights to Benidorm.

I first thought Aston is going to have one foot either side.
Looking at the set up with the 3 Americans, these boys don’t take fools lightly and will swing the axe if needed.

I still would have liked a replacement of a more experienced member.

That's my concern.

No doubt that thread on the Bristol forum will kick into life again once news filters westwards.
