Harness wont be sold as is a useful squad filler and to bring someone else in who is a similar or better player in his position would cost. |  | | |

The positive side to that being that if these players put in good performances before the window closes we might be able to demand a higher selling price for them and/or they might be able to demand better personal terms. Either way it's not the end of the world, I'd sooner we were unprepared and lost to Liverpool and City than to Leicester, Soton, Brentford, Forest or Everton. |  | | |

Like any football squad, we will never have all the players we "need" - squads constantly change and evolve.
This time last year we found it difficult to attract quality Championship players as we were new boys in the division - an unknown quantity and not able to compete wage-wise with the parachute and established clubs. It's taken promotion to the Prem just for us to be able to bring in players who have shown they are top Championship players like Muric and Greaves, and we couldn't land one target because a team in the Champions League wanted him too.
We aren't going to be paying the fees and wages that established Prem clubs can, and we've also moved into the territory of signings that cost (for us) big money and will get big wages; we made a couple of "gamble" signings last summer in Brandon Williams and Dane Scarlett that didn't work out, so really can't afford to take financial and footballing risks like that now. Our "gambles" so far this window in Hutchinson and Delap look much lower risk - young players with a high ceiling who will hopefully be with us for many years.
We're not going to have 22 players to face Liverpool who are comfortable at Prem level - but the squad we have now have earned the right to have a crack at it and adjust to the step up through their performance over the past couple of seasons. What we do know is that KMcK and the staff will have any players in the building as prepared as possible for that game ("one game at a time")...and that any future signings will be joining a stable squad with well defined tactics which will make it easier for them to slot in. |  |
