Suspended sentence. That's, er, an eye opener. So you get a suspended sentence and a telling off for baby paedophilia, but 5 years prison for disrupting traffic because you're desperately trying to get the message across that we're all fked if we don't take climate chage seriously.

Ex-boyfriend of the victim has allegedly killed her, and he’s now apparently on the Orwell Bridge.

On the bright side, albeit it tragic, better if it’s domestic and not racial in the current climate.

Yeah I just re-read what I wrote and it was more heartless than I intended. Clumsily trying to make a point.

Something kicking off in town apparently.. on 23:14 - Aug 6 by Reus30 | It seems more frequent these days. "Men" turning into murderous scum because they have been rejected and had their feelings hurt. Again, probably poor parenting, social media I don't know but it's a worrying trend. I mean look at a few weeks back with that crossbow murder scene. Scary, scary world. Poor lass. |
Isn't it just. Seems like more of a common denominator than foreigner. Poor lass indeed.

5 years is justified. But obviously the other offence should be more.

I'm not in favour of penalising people who want to improve our lives, but that's the way we seem to be run at the moment unfortunately.

It's partly, shall we call it the "Tate factor". Men being taught they should have what they want and take it by force if denied.

Bibby Stockholm may well rise from the ashes the way this summer is going, but it won’t be housing migrants..or maybe that rewanda deal..
Something kicking off in town apparently.. on 07:37 - Aug 7 with 2296 views | textbackup | I sincerely hope the victims family aren’t on here, given some of the early posts to this. You’d think given recent happenings people might be a bit more considerate to how terrible a police incident could be.

Don’t think anything was said that wasn’t already over the news, or social media , or anything of poor taste being said?

I don’t mind getting grief for stating my opinion that two wrongs don’t make a right. I can live with that 👍

Cheap silly ‘jokes’ The idea that atleast it was domestic violence and not race related Personally find those in bad taste, would hate for the victims family to post on here and read such things. Each to their own though.

i think it seeming more frequent is a reporting / perception thing. the number of women murdered by partners / ex-partners seems to be falling over time: https://www.statista.com/statistics/288298/female-victims-of-homicide-england-an
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

I can see what Illy was trying to say tbf to him, my first thought when I heard it was a stabbing was ‘oh no, are the riots going to start here now’ depending on the attacker/victim etc. But it’s still yet another horrible event, whatever and whoever it is, a waste of life, mum of 3 apparently, hopefully they catch him, no arrests yet.

That wouldn't surprise me, I think the reality is with rolling news is more things get reported nowadays. We are more aware of it going on but you're never really told the figures to put it in perspective I know for the police, it used to be alcohol based violence they dealt with most of the time, it's shifted to mental health issues, they're often picking up the aftermath of a system which has failed people There is an existential crisis in mental health across the UK which we have simply failed to address and the Tory Austerity Programme has greatly contributed to that [Post edited 7 Aug 2024 8:56]

Whilst your last paragraph is correct, I would be very surprised if alcohol based violence and mental health issues do not involve a significant amount of overlap.
