All I want is to be able to go to 1 or 2 premier league away games this season. I don't think that's unreasonable and can I say I feel its pretty selfish for a lot of people to just say I go regularly to them all and therefore Im more entitled. |
I can’t see how anyone could complain about a system that uses reward points to those that went to the away games. It has to be the fairest way of doing it.

How about a system that makes you pay £30 for an away membership at least guaranteeing that person one away game.

What is this away membership you speak of? There is Super Blues membership, which amoungst other things, gives priority access to away tickets.

didn't I read or hear someone say we had sold about 10k away memberships? I wouldnt be surprised if there's not around 6k applying bearing in mind that many know they won't get them anyway in the ballot and they just go in. And as I said an extrapolation of that figure anyway, So even if 1000 in a ballot that leaves about an evens chance of getting a ticket in a season.

No no... what I've learnt since we brought the system in on here an social media is that fairest way is always the way the benefits the person complaining, and their "solution" is one that just so happens - by pure coinsidence I'm sure - to increase their chance of getting a ticket.

You've done well to get an evens chance to be honest, and I'm sure there will be chances to pick points up to cup games or grounds we've been to several times before like Wolves. Your dismissal of those that have picked up points as 'not everyone can afford it' - I get the sentiment behind this but no one has a bottomless pit and people make sacrifices to get to these games. We didn't sell out Preston last year (only one I can think of off the top of my head and I'm sure there were others) and there were several others that got to general sale that you decided not to go to - ultimately, that puts you in the queue behind others that made the sacrifices last season. I can't see any way that that can be an unfair system - although I do agree they should have been clearer about ballot percentages before selling memberships, as I'm sure others will have bought with the expectation of a higher percentage of tickets going to the ballot.

Ill rest easy knowing ive done well to get an evens chance of an away ticket. You just sacrifice yourself for every away game going,

It's not an away membership, it is membership. So it is to be used for home and away tickets. A % will be sold to non-ST holders to buy home tickets, a % will be to people who want to go to away games.

I think you are missing my point. Looking from where my seats are it would appear I was one of the last of the 15+ pointers to get tickets. It could have gone either way. Had I attended another 4 games last season I would have easily got tickets yesterday. But I didn't so people who went to more games than I had a better chance of getting them, which is fair.

I love your empathy. Its not a complicated argument Ive put forward and that is everyone who buys a membership or a season ticket should have a guarantee of an away ticket. And as someone else pointed out we didn't know the ballot allocation when we bought it. 2% is not enough and it should be much higher. And you using words like whining when Ive tried to be level headed in this debate is out of order. If Im not allowed to make valid points on this forum in a reasonable way, what's the point.

I don't have an issue with their being a reward to loyalty and those that went to many games. All Im asking the club for is that everyone should get the opportunity to get to at least one away match. And if that means some regulars miss a few then so be it. The ballot doesnt look like its going to achieve that. And in the meantime those going to away games get to accumulate even more points.

If a load of people are telling you you aren't making valid points, you probably aren't. I unfortunately found this out the hard way when I was calling for McKenna's head after Bristol Rovers away.

But not sure why “if some regulars miss it so be it” is just as valid or if it’s an example of hypocrisy there.

Unless we need three points to survive or three points to make the Champions League, I doubt you'll have any problem getting a ticket for Leicester away. There will be a couple of other games where the points needed will be quite low. But if somebody has travelled to 20 away games including opposite ends of the country like Fleetwood and Plymouth in the pissing rain then they should have first chance at watching the elite games such as Man City, United, Arsenal etc.

I stayed over. And we went back for the Bristol city game this year. It's that which is getting my goat. The fact Im being told that In cant expect to go to ANY game this year just because I didn't go to every game last year. Well maybe Leicester away according to GB.... [Post edited 8 Aug 2024 14:13]

I haven't read anyone's comments that way, just that you can't expect to go to more games now we're in the Prem than people who went to more games than you last season
