that people who post about lack of transfer activity are getting pelters. We are a week away from our first premier game and nowhere near ready. The manager has indicated we need more players. It is a genuine concern.

KM just said we’re two players off. To say, “we are nowhere near ready” after wins against Europa League and Champions League opposition and to call two players light, “a genuine concern” is very weak and baseless argument. Unless you’re planning to play 25 players against Liverpool.

Yawn. Liverpool have signed no-one, yet…

True, but which squad would you prefer to start the season with?

No no, it’s just fine thank you. Thanks for the concern about my keyboard though.

Now go get tucked in bed by Mark Ashton and be a good little boy will you.

Not sure I see the need for that last line KK.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Its only a concern if you think we aren't doing anything to change that?

Do you want signings just for the sake of it? We don't seem to be that club anymore. Also it's not that easy just to sign players.

"Seems odd" that people haven't grasped that the transfer window runs beyond the start of the season and quite a few deals get done near the end for various reasons.

Personally I don't like the transfer window carrying on into the season but it is what it is.

Probably Liverpool’s.

Bearing in mind they are one of the best teams in the world.

Is this a real question?

We all know we need 2 or 3 more signings and people at the club will know that more than anyone. We can also trust Ashton and his team will be working hard to get the right players in at the right price, but they'll also walk away if it's not.

It's not ideal not having all the players already here but we also don't want to sign average players or players for too much money upsetting the harmony in the squad. After the last couple of years I think the ITFC staff should have earned our trust

Isn't the issue just that the club has earned a bit of trust? Most of us just believe they'll get it right in the end and there's not much use fretting about it.

Villa and Forest bought a whole new squad when they both came up and struggled in their first season. Two or three more before the window is shut. Done. Let’s all just get used to that and stop the hyperbole and hysteria (again).

That's just nonsense. I know for a bona fide *fact* that KM wanted 7-8 more faces pre-Townsend's arrival. So, six more minimum.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of transfer activity (ins) going on in the bottom half of the Prem at all right now. Just had a look and since 1st August:

Buonanotte - Leicester
Smith Rowe - Fulham
Cuenca - Fulham
Silva - Forest
Townsend - Ipswich

Expect the last couple of weeks of the window are going to see the same players being chased by multiple clubs once dominoes start to fall higher up the chain.

I thought his comment about "two away from where we wanted to be by THIS STAGE" was interesting. Suggests if the 7-8 figures is accurate that he was expecting 5-6 to happen quite late anyway.. I know it won't be quite that precise but seen a number of media commentators suggesting that the end of the window will be busy for lots of clubs.

That seems to increasingly be the way with clubs holding on to players later and later into the window. Exacerbated by the Euros this year I am sure and lots of fringe or even well out of the picture players going on tours abroad to make up the numbers.

Hopefully we have a few lined up waiting on movement elsewhere.

I think keep raising it is probably not helpful. Adds pressure to the recruitment team and they might start hiring anyone to keep people happy. We have done that a couple of times and it never works out. The team we have know the system, that is a good starting point

You think the recruitment team base their signings and transfer activities from what they read on here?

We’ve been gearing up and preparing for the prem ever since KM got here. We’ve achieved it at break neck speed. The idea that we’ve been caught cold or unaware with the backing and setup we’ve been building is a non-argument. It’s like having a baby, you’re never going to be completely ready so the fact we’d like a couple of extra bodies to start the season against Liverpool is trivial given where we’ve been.

Sorry, what?

It is a genuine concern but we still have a decent first 11 to put out with some good options on the bench as well.

We're a bit light but this happens to most clubs in most windows. We can't be spending millions on a fee and 3+ year contract just to have more cover in the opening couple of games.

Whilst I agree the squad is okay, the problem is it's a baptism of fire with Liverpool and then City

That probably ups people's anxiety somewhat
