Yeah should’ve said, obviously mean those who have held them since before the last two years really, sure out of 22,000 there’s a load who just have them to keep hold of them, some may have two so they have a spare seat next to them! | |

The QR codes are static as they are printable, rather than dynamic (like some on Apps, which refresh regularly), which is a bit of a nightmare.
It means you could sell a ticket multiple times to multiple buyers, on multiple resale sites, and only the first scan of the code would work at the turnstiles. | |

I bought some hospitality tickets to the NFL at Wembley last year via a reputable Facebook group (which tries to limit the £ resale sites make by skipping that out). Knew the risk, so got there as soon as it opened. Was from what seemed genuine guy so was very confident (especially as used Paypal G&S) but you never really know do you? Thankfully was fine.
p.s. not illegal to resell or buy those tickets for those games on secondary markets, before anyone shoots me down. | |

At a guess I'd say, the touts have bought plenty of memberships and then deploy their very sophisticated bots/software that snap up the tickets once they're in the queue system.
Not sure what can be done about that but has been the case at the big clubs for a while.
It's hard to police as you don't have to be sophisticated to register new memberships once you're caught. [Post edited 13 Aug 2024 15:08]

Surely if a QR code gets rejected because it has already been used it could be automatically flagged and easy to investigate who originally purchased it. |  | | |
