I bet they made more noise than the 3000 church mice in the away end.

Getting lucky in the ballot makes no difference. Those who "win" the ballot select a seat and buy it the same as anyone else (execpt that it is from a far more limited availability). The club will know exactly who bought any particular ticket.

Because thousands of Ipswich fans are unable to get tickets at the moment?

Liverpool shirts in home end on 22:40 - Aug 17 with 3906 views | tractorshark | One bloke looking like a tourist from the Far East was in the West upper wearing a Liverpool shirt with Szoboslai on the back. Fair few up there weren’t impressed. Don’t wish the lad any harm but my best guess was he’d bought the ticket through Stubhub or Viagogo or some other legalised tout. You see it at Spurs/Arsenal/Man Utd all the time. My problem, like others, is it’s bloody hard getting tickets at the moment and a lot of genuine, long-standing Ipswich fans are missing out. So seeing opposition fans in the home doesn’t sit well. Likewise if an Ipswich fan has sold their ticket on Stubhub then that’s equally as frustrating.

Anyone seeing that should report it to the club which seat it is so we can get the touts out We need as many town fans in there as possible

It was pointed out to stewards who had a word with him. He went out with a steward into the concourse and we thought that was that. But we saw him again at the end of the match walking down the stairs from the back of the upper tier. I have no problem reporting instances like this as you say. I’d encourage any Ipswich fan to do the same. It is just stitching up genuine Town fans.
Liverpool shirts in home end on 12:20 - Aug 18 with 3229 views | bluesimon | I must admit I'm not too bothered if a tourist sits in the home end with an away shirt on, as likely to be unintentional, mean no harm and they're just here for a game, to see their team live which could be once in a lifetime opportunity. Although, I do think that the seat number needs reporting though so touts can be weeded out from our membership or season ticket database. But no need to cause a fuss during the game, unless they are actually abusing you. This and lots of other things are just something to get used to being in the Prem. Embrace it, after all being in the Premier was what we all wanted!

Nah, if you’re in the home end you should be an Ipswich fan. Loads of people are struggling to get tickets, there’s no justification for tourists ever. If they wanna pay through the nose etc they can but it shouldn’t be at the expense of Ipswich fans. Hope whoever sold them the ticket is banned for life and the hardest of stances is taken. Clubs shouldn’t tolerate this nonsense, let alone normalise it.

Liverpool shirts in home end on 12:33 - Aug 18 with 3154 views | pelles321 | I saw quite a few people with half and half scarves. One guy had an Ipswich scarf and a Liverpool scarf, maybe hedging his bets. Who buys half and half scarves?! I could only assume they weren’t proper fans! Edit: Ignore, seen there’s already a thread about this and some actual fans do seem to be buying them, game’s gone! [Post edited 18 Aug 2024 12:40]

Exactly. Simply report it to the club and they’ll monitor the seat. If it happens again, clearly it’s somebody touting and they’ll rescind the season ticket (if that’s what it is).

Liverpool shirts in home end on 16:02 - Aug 19 with 2630 views | soupytwist | I know a Braintree-resident Liverpool supporter who was in the upper tier of the West Stand. He'd got his ticket through a supplier at work who has a couple of tickets in that part of the ground which they use as corporate entertainment gifts. Don't know if he was wearing a Liverpool shirt. I doubt it.
Liverpool shirts in home end on 16:27 - Aug 19 with 2513 views | Steve_M | It's inevitable there will be some away fans in home stands this season, I don't have too much of a problem with it in general as I've done the same for various reasons in the past. However, there are two golden rules: 1). Don't wear colours (think that goes for kids too really) 2). Don't be a dick if the away team score. It's not that hard really*. *Except that time at Bolton in the play-offs when Johnson should have had a penalty and I forgot what end I was in momentarily.

Liverpool shirts in home end on 16:53 - Aug 19 with 2381 views | Stu_boy | I'm sure ipswich fans occasionally sit in the home sections when we play away, based on that alone i can't see how we can complain if the occasional fan of another team sits in our home section

Not really a problem if there are thousands of free seats but absolutely sh!t when thousands of genuine Ipswich fans can't get a ticket for love nor money at the moment.
