Has hardly disgraced himself.

He's been fine really. Caught out positionally and for pace a few times and that's why I think he'll probably lose his place.

Has done well given his experience etc.

Is he good enough? I'm not sure.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

He's a solid championship defender imo and there is no disgrace in that.

But for prem he doesn't have the pace and positioning is off but also he's OK at close ball playing but can't get you out of trouble with a nicely placed diag ping.

Hes done OK, but we're not going to bring in O'shea to be Woolfy's back up.

Burgess has done nothing wrong and lost his place so expect it to be the same with Woolfy.

He is talented and I think can play at this level. To my untutored eye he seems to grow into it against Liverpool but I’ve not seen today’s game yet so bit early to offer a real view.

For me we don't need to be gutted or feel sorry for him here. He's going to get game time and learn a hell of a lot this season. Still relatively young for a CB. If we go down then he will be a better player for it etc. And he still has the opportunity to make himself first choice. All about competition. If Woolf needs anything he needs motivation.

He’s done very well. It’s a learning curve for nearly all of our players and Woolfy is learning fast. I hope that whatever happens in the next few days he stays because even if he’s not a first team regular come October he’ll have an important role this season.

Burgess is backup to Greaves nowadays, both are left sided defenders, you can't play both together, unless we run out of fit defenders. Until we sign a right sided defender Woolfy is probably 1st pick still

I agree, looks ok. Good on the ball, still unruffled in possession, lots of good blocks.

Lacks pace, we know that.

Well worth place in a Prenier league squad. A regular? We’ll see…

If O’Shea joins then I’m afraid Woolfy will be benched which is a shame as I think he played well against Liverpool and again today.

Erm...... we are signing a right-sided CB. That's the whole point.

My point was Burgess has done nothing wrong and is a back up. And we have to accept it due to improving the team. And so the same will happen to Woolfy.

Done really well for the first 2 games, worst defender over the two has been Davis. But it's a learning curve, all the defenders and GKs have made mistakes, actually all the players have made at least one mistake. But that happens, there isn't a footballer on this planet that doesn't make mistakes.

Apparently we're buying a new CH, not convinced yet as based on the feedback I was given today apparently he was physically bullied in a lot of games last season in the Prem - but I'll reserve judgement until I watch him.

He's played well both games, and he showed a surprising turn of pace to block something at the near post late in the game today.

Sorry , but for me he’s simply nowhere near good enough.

That’s a given comment from me for many of you on here I’m sure. I harbour him no malice. I just don’t rate him as a DEFENDER ( I’ve been at pains to make this distinction many times) . I’m not sure where his best position is, but it’s not as a CB. I would say he’s a player that might do well in the Championship, but I don’t think it’ll be as a CB.

And do you think his deficiencies have directly resulted in the losses so far?

A loaded question. But I’ll give you my opinion if you want it.

I can’t comment on today’s game as I haven’t been able to see it. I’ve already stated last week that he played well v Liverpool, the best I’ve ever seen him play in a Town shirt. But I will add to that, that he was between two very good defenders in Axel and Greaves, which affords him some protection for his lack of physicality, pace and almost zero tackling, and weak headering . I understand Axel was the pick of the defenders today. Which doesn’t surprise me.

Woolfenden puts in 100% without doubt but there is so much about his game that is not good enough for a centre back . As I’ve said before, walking the ball out of defence to instigate our play, is not “defending”.

I have an opinion on things, like every one else on here, and I’ve dared to voice them. I’ve noticed over recent weeks that a few others are starting to post similar views . I take a LOT of crap on here bordering on bullying, from posters who are this player’s hard core fan club, just because I have the guts to post those views.

Just because a person has a different opinion doesn’t make them any less a supporter, or invalid in their opinion. It’s an opinion.

So having once again posted my views, I await the usual vitriol (probably from the usual people).

But I state again, I have no personal grudge against Woolfenden the person , but I do not rate him as a defender.

I disagree with almost everything you say. Whilst I acknowledge the question of whether he'll develop into a Premier League centre back is up to debate, and moves are being made to strengthen accordingly, I do think he has shown qualities in tackling, heading and physicality, and is actually improving in that regard.

Whether that is enough is questionable, fair enough. Do we have the time for him to improve? Does he have it in him to improve? Some of us believe he has, some don't.

I will maintain - and this is a general comment towards the forum than you personally - that greater expectation seems to be placed on him than others, and it has always been the case. If he made the errors Davis has over the past couple of games, I don't think we would be able to move for critical threads.

I don't get why you disagree with Arnie when we've just signed a cb to replace him. If he was everything you think then we wouldn't have a need to.

Davis I think people give a bit of a break to because if whar he's achieved going forwards the last two seasons.

But this is important. He may not get those stats this season so we can ignore the last two games for who they were against but he's been found out in the lead up to 3 of the goals we've conceded so he needs to iron out his Involvement in those otherwise I can see KM going shopping in Jan.

There's a reason why Woolfy gets more heat..... and that's because some go totally over the top about him because he's from the academy.... and there's a reaction to that. Be more balanced and its likely he'll get less heat.

I think he's worth his spot as a RCB at the moment, but if we are going to upgrade then he's likely to be a casualty. I think he's done well and coped really well stepping up to the Championship, but I think he'll get found out more often in the PL. I think he can improve his game by being a bit more aggressive and physical. All this Rolls Royce tag he's got is nonsense, though.

Almost zero tackling???

Get the recordings from the Liverpool & City and proved he does almost zero tackling.

I get it you have a personal dislike of Woolfy as a human, which is obvious when you say utter b0llocks like almost zero tackling.

I disagree that he can't head the ball, can't tackle and lacks physicality. I think he has taken a step forward again on all three from what we've seen over the past two games. I appreciate the argument about pace. I also understand the argument about whether the improvement is enough, and whether he's now at his ceiling.

Davis is, of course, is unlucky not to have a penalty assist in the positive column against his name today. He is the only player where we haven't bought in someone who is at least an equal, if not an improvement on.

Bit ironic isn't it re you're KM comment. You often disagree with KMs decisions especially during the games, including the players he selects. Now your saying whatever decision he makes is correct.
