After the emotion of Sundays game, I did have a good look at our stadium. I am a bit of a stadium geek. I’m also very old school, in as far as, I don’t usually like new stadiums, as clean and bright as they might look on TV and in vlogs etc.
I’ve got to say, our stadium does look really sharp. All the corners now look really neat, the wendy house now looks much less like a wendy house (never liked it).
Liverpool, Fulham & now Villa vloggers mostly commented on how cool it looks.
I’m quite well traveled around English stadiums, completing nearly 75% of the 92. I’ve got to say, our ground is definitely up there now with the best (old school) grounds in England of its size.
Considering how bad it was 5 years ago, it’s remarkable what has happened to it.

Yes really! I've never heard it called that, none of my ITFC mates have called it that, I don't have daughters, we're not in the 80s and I'm not a 5 year old girl!
Why on earth would I even have wendy houses in my frame of reference?!

I'm right with you in the 'not a fan of the Wendy House' club - I think we may be in a minority though, as I got several downvotes when I mentioned it a couple of years or so ago!
I’ve never thought of it as a Wendy House. However, it always looked like a railway hut where they change the signals manually.

Imagination?
Oh here she is... the one who likes to claim she doesn't like pile ons... joining a pile on.
My imagination is great thanks. In fact it's what I earn a living from. I just don't know anything about wendy houses, have never dealt with one/had one in my life. So why would I see that and think "wendy house"?
Tell me about, Sitting in the west stand 5 rows from the back (having been re-sited because of the press box) I groaned as O'Shea to my mind knocked it needlessly out for a throw in, only for Omari to suddenly emerge with the ball. You can lose an entire (smallish) player in that overhang. It is not the roof overhang , but the seated area taking out the near touch line that is the main issue.
you certainly can't see the big screen from anywhere near the back of the west stand due to the overhang of the roof

How on earth could you possibly construe that a contributing to a "pile-on"??

Have to say, I've been going to PR since 1986 and never heard the term Wendy House.

Yeah true, if I duck down I can see about half of it. The new pa system speakers block some of it as well. i'm guessing if CAD had been around in 1980 it would not have been an issue ? Whoever drew the plans got things fundamentally wrong.

It's literally the 9th post taking the piss about me not knowing what "the wendy house" referred to.
I'd only seen a couple of the previous ones & mine was an intended, no doubt terrible joke on the basis of "most Londoners can't afford to buy houses, they can only afford to dream about them or imagine minature ones".
Just paint the first one black, stick a little badge on it and that’s what sat in the corner before they replaced the roof bit with a 60s/70s tv set 😀
I was going to say, "I do actually know what a wendy house is... just wouldn't have one as a frame of reference for something." But actually, seeing those they're a lot more impressive than I was imagining! In my head a wendy house was a plastic house-shaped tent.

Anyway, who cares.
It reminds me of a scene from Only Fools and Horses.
