London Stadium. 17:49 - Oct 5 with 2962 viewsessexpaul64

Well, in 50 years of going to football that was the worse stadium ive ever been in. Nothing to do with the result or who we played, no atmosphere whatsoever and i hope never to go back again.

At least we’ll never play there again after this season

I’ve heard how poor it is. I’m not surprised. I saw it in 2012 and the Athletics Championships a few years later and couldn’t for the life of me see how you could turn it into a football stadium.

Yeah. Other than it being horrid to get in, no good design with all clunky construction in its conversion, crap sightlines, no atmosphere - other than all that, we paid for it and they only pay a few million a year and consequently have far more disposable income thanv other clubs because it was a tax payer funded project.

Tbf Man city managed it, buy I think the issue has always been it's a multi purpose stadium still, not a football ground

What can you say about a club that has Michael Jackson's favourite song as an anthem

This will go over many people’s heads… but I appreciate the humour.

Massive difference between the two. Eastlands was designed and built to be used for the commonwealth games then immediately converted into a football stadium for the mancs from the start. Whereas Stratford was a f up from the start.

Agreed.

What a soulless tourist bowl of a stadium it was.

Upton Park was proper. The Whammers must be mortified at what they’ve become.

It's a fantastic stadium for watching athletics. It's almost as if it was designed for that sport. The Olympic Stadiums in Berlin, Munich, Rome and Paris have the same problem. France play the majority of their games in The Stade Velodrome.

Just wouldn’t go and can see why so many of their fans stopped. Upton Park/Boleyn to that - I never thought I’d say it but I feel sorry for them.

Watching online I could hear McKenna shouting pretty clearly on more than one occasion. Can’t say I can recall that happening much before. Such a lack of crowd noise coming through it was like watching a game from the covid era.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.
