Can anyone recommend some chilled background music on 16:18 - Oct 11 by Whos_blue
If you like a more contemporary chilled vibe, try Tosca by Suzuki. I'll give a second shout out for Nick Drake. 5 leaves left is a good place to start. Also the debut by Crosby, Stills and Nash is a think of beauty. One of my favourite artists is Matt Deighton. I have all his albums. Many are acoustic focused. I can't recommend highly enough his debut solo album - Villager. Joyous and chilled.
All of Crosby's solo albums.........

SAW vol 2 got a 30 year (!) re-issue last week. As well as being one of the greatest albums of all time, it is oddly good for working (or driving) to. #1 is looovely:

Some dickhead, I'm sure.
FWIW, that's not too chilled for the most part.
Some of my chilled go to's
Ulrich Schnauss Nashville Ambient Ensemble Boards of Canada Mary Lattimore Neil Young Fleet Foxes Beck's Sea Change album Dope Lemon
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
I own a Hairdressing Salon so am used to finding good tunes to add to the vibe. Some of my faves over the years that immediately come to mind ...
William Onyeabor Royksopp Tosca David Holmes ... Bow Down to the Exit Sign Death in Vegas Beasties Boys ...The Inside from Way Out (Instrumental album) Lee Fields ... has made Instrumental versions of all his albums. Great background as well as a concentrated listen.
Compilations
Early Buddah Bar (First 4 or 5 excellent) Early Cafe Del Mar (Again first 4 or 5) Early Ku De Ta
Recent ones are crap ...
My all time favourite is the compilation album from Norwegian record label Telle. Retro beats. Amazing stuff.

Sea Change by Beck is an all time favourite album of mine. By his own admission heavily influenced by Histoire De Melodie Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg a groundbreaking album that was so far ahead of it's time in 1972. So many artists have held it up as an influence ...
In fact, an album that also falls into the OP's request.
