What do people want? 00:13 - Oct 20 with 7761 views | WonnorCickhamm | Lots of comments today re: Championship is more fun, better league etc. Kind of agree. But do people want us to be successful in that league but not too successful so we don’t go up? Genuine question.

What do people want? on 00:56 - Oct 20 with 5338 views | ParisBlue | I think we might be a bit "rosey eyed" about the Championship after last season. If you're in the Championship you have to want to go up otherwise what's the point?

It's purely a money grabbing/ making phenomenon, and nothing about football, the game, and certainly not about the fans. It's a plastic state of the beautiful game in my view, and I wish it would fall apart. I hate it.

Of course you are spot on. I think it also shows the massive gulf of difference in being a very good Championship side to a poor Premier League side. Brogan said Yesterday’our mini league’ I think that is right we are fighting for survival at the bottom now. But Yesterday was one of the games we really should be getting a draw at the very least, but this is going to be harder than I thought.

What do people want? on 06:54 - Oct 20 with 4917 views | Chrisd | Promotion is the end game IMO. However, how many team’s fans that have been relegated have said exactly same? The reality is even spending £100m on players isn’t enough to close the gap between the top of the Championship even to the bottom 6 of the EPL. Yesterday’s performance and the one against West Ham I feel has served to highlight this point. I was encouraged previous to those two games, but I do wonder what the mental impact of those two results and the level of those performances will have on the squad in going forwards? The Championship is far more competitive top to bottom, where everyone can genuinely beat everyone else, you go into all games believing you have a chance. I don’t have that same feeling in the EPL. We look well off being able to survive in this league based on yesterday, Everton were too good for us - penalty or not, two shots on target, not being clinical enough in front of goal and giving silly goals away is a recipe for disaster.

What do people want? on 07:14 - Oct 20 with 4848 views | franz_tyson | Not sure what I want, but maybe we have to take a bit of pain and suck it up before we have our day again. We had 2 years of glorious sunshine after 20 years of gloom. It was amazing, but we're now paying for it. Perhaps a too soon promotion. Don't care if we get relegated, but want to give it a go whilst we're here and and not be a walkover. Yesterday and West Ham we were terrible. Any other team in this league would want to play us. If we're going down, I want to go down fighting and look forward to next season. I know Kieran is seen as saintly, but he now has to earn his money and reputation. Don't care about fancy football at tbe moment, but want to be at least be competitive and give teams a game. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
What do people want? on 08:11 - Oct 20 with 4687 views | mikeybloo88 | If it wasn’t before (and to many it seems it wasn’t) then it’s now pretty clear the challenge we face to survive this year. Only 8 games gone I know but our shortcomings are clear and other teams can see it. The question is whether KM, and the players, can find the formula to counteract what the opposition prepare for us enough times to start getting the wins and points needed to not just survive by season’s end but to perhaps justify initially further investment in January. What I’d like is that there is a positive answer to that question of course, but if not, I will have been glad that we are getting the chance to experience one of the top leagues in the world. Im glad KM and the players are getting that learning and hopefully enough will improve to enable us to have a good tilt at getting back again in two seasons time when we might be better prepared to establish ourselves in this league. As such, I won’t criticise KM or the players this year or have a paddy after a few bad results. I still think that we’ve shown at times that we could be competitive in this league but can we maintain the required level for long enough both in games and over the season? The size of the task is now confirmed, let’s see what happens but let’s still try and enjoy being here and hopefully watching some of our players develop into genuine PL class players.

Has it been more enjoyable than last season or the seasons we had under Royle? Less games, no chance to find a rhythm, the build up / condescending nature of the media, random kick off times due to tv / European games, the fact we're starting to get idiots in amongst the fanbase on social media and in the stands turn on the players a little bit, a few more winless weeks and they'll be very vocal. In the same breath of my last point, I'm also sat here thinking, we're paying Johnson 60k a week and seemingly letting Janoi go, I'm not sure Johnson is any kind of improvement on Janoi which is so frustrating based on that salary! Do I actually want us to go down? No, I want the team to continue to do us proud and overachieve, it also gives us a chance of keeping McKenna for longer. However, would I enjoy being a bottom 6 prem club for the next 5 years or a top 6 Championship one? I think the latter personally.

because it feels a bit like being a spoilt kid just wanting to eat pudding and sweets all the time and complaining about told to eat vegetables as well the highs in any sport, only come from experiencing the lows as well.

It's interesting (and very disappointing), that we have arguably saved our worst performances for when we've played against any of the teams in our " mini league". Can anyone explain this?

All I can think of is the pressure of "We need to get something here" Vs The freedom and confidence that comes from the "Nothing to lose and everything to prove" attitude against the 'bigger' teams
