Fresh injuries on top of last week's absentees 14:42 - Oct 24 with 3318 viewsportmanking

*Puffs out cheeks*

Who wants to guess the likely injuries this week? Since McKenna mentioned about 'how long Cajuste can manage' on Saturday, I expect one of Morsy or Phillips is struggling.

If I'm being brutally honest, I'd find it quite refreshing to see that pairing broken up, at least in the short term to try and find a winning formula elsewhere.

We've been so unlucky with injuries. Is there another Prem team that's been as badly hit?

Someone's probably taken their arm off with a lawnmower this week.

That's why we have a squad and signed 12 or so players in the summer.

And not so long ago, we had everyone fit.

Named FWA Footballer of the Year for 1956, Trautmann entered football folklore with his performance in the 1956 FA Cup final. With 17 minutes of the match remaining, Trautmann suffered a serious injury while diving at the feet of Birmingham City's Peter Murphy. Despite his injury, he continued to play, making crucial saves to preserve his team's 3–1 lead. His neck was noticeably crooked as he collected his winner's medal; three days later an X-ray revealed it to be broken.

I reckon I won't be able to play this week. I have a slight twinge. I'll be in the stands. Sorry folks, best get me out of your fantasy team.

Not quite a broken neck, but I do remember the game where Kieron Dyer scored with a broken leg.
Anyone else remember the "Can Kieron Dyer's mum please contact the nearest steward?" Tannoy announcement?

Edit: Wasn't that also the game with the cat on the pitch? A night game v Watford?

really hope it's not one of the defenders, think phillips has played centre-back, so might have to be shifted there...

I saw a thing on some footie website suggesting the club are not impressed with Philips general fitness and conditioning. Haven't anything about it elsewhere so put it out of my mind, but this just just make me wonder.

If that's the case, then this wouldn't be the first club to make that observation. But I suppose at least if it is the case, McKenna has the class not to air the dirty laundry in public.

He's hardly played, this is his longest run of games since 21/22.
I'd be stunned if his general fitness and conditioning wasn't out of whack.

Are you predicting a sudden turn in the weather?

The grass will be growing for a long time yet, don’t place that mower away just yet.
