Take a point at Brentford? 15:42 - Oct 25 with 10434 viewsTheBoyBlue

I know we need to get that first win, but especially after the last two games will we be happy with another point and another good performance away against a really good team to steady the ship?

Yep definitely.

Especially with the injury crisis.

Yes, I would be happy with a point.

However, I do think its the type of match where we probably need to set up a little differently to try to nick a win perhaps.

Always take a point away from home.

So would I. But unless vast improvement on the last 2 games I only see this going one way I'm afraid. Saturday we looked like a relegation side against a average Everton team.

I would but we're gonna win 1-0 tomorrow. Phillips thunderbolt on 10 minutes, followed by 80 minutes for defending for our lives. "Absolute scenes" greet the final whistle in the away end.

Harsh. Brentford play some nice football to be fair.

All day long.

Yes, we do need a win but we are currently putting in sub-standard performances in the games we would probably have targeted as wins.

Our injury situation isn't helping either with new issues each week.

I'd certainly take them not scoring in the first couple of minutes.

Going to be a toughie tomorrow. Think we will need 3 in the middle, or a total gung ho attitude. If we sit deep and try to soak it up, we will get beat for sure. We either try and match them, or not looking hopeful. Could be a classic 3-4 win for the brilliant blues. Everything clicks into place and we start to believe again and we pull away from danger and finish 11th. Keep the faith folks.

That’s the reality, sadly. Brentford are very good. If we can cut out the stupid errors maybe we can nick a draw.

Is that a serious question?!

Looking at tomorrows line up, I’d rip your arm off for a point!

I suppose it's a rhetorical question! I'd definitely take a point right now, regardless of our line up tomorrow.

Some people I've heard suggest that this is one we ought to be winning because it's "only Brentford", but like you I think most Town fans realise that they are are extremely well-run, well-established Premier League club. This is so far removed from little old Brentford who used to knock around the lower leagues and the same goes for Bournemouth when we get to them. If they play like they did at Man City then I fear for us tomorrow.

Anyone who refers to them as "only Brentford" is a number of years out of date. or idiotic. Or entitled. Or all of the above.

Brentford have been at least one division above us for the last half decade, and have finished above us in the league in each of the last 7 seasons.

And it's an away game to boot. No team in the Premier League this season has more points than them at home (with all teams having played 4 at home now). They have the same number of points at home as Man City, and the same goal difference.

If someone offered me /half/ a point, I would take it.

Of course! What I am looking for is an improved performance. Hopefully the tide will turn and a bit of luck or VAR decisions go our way.

Every game is going to be difficult but if we can get nearer to the Villa performance and cut out some simple mistakes and not get destroyed.

Yep. Pity we didn't replicate the Villa performance against West Ham or Everton as we'd have at least a win under our belt, but that kind of performance would be most welcome tomorrow!
