Looks like that labour mp has just blown his career on 19:03 - Oct 27 by bournemouthblue
There's an easy story for the gutter press
With the stonking majority Labour have, it's not going to make a huge dent on them in truth
A couple of weird takes from you on this story on two different threads. You've blamed the gutter press on this thread and the "two tier people" on the other thread. Not a word of condemnation for his behavior. He could have killed the bloke.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

He was demanding 5 year prison sentences for violent disorder just a few months ago.
Well Labour leadership have shown themselves to be tough on violent thuggery on the streets, so I fully expect this violent thug to be locked up within a couple of weeks. I'm sure the approach will be applied consistently.

He'd have to plead guilty having been charged, as many of these violent thugs have done, something the the twitter trolls have often missed
I'm not saying it's true in this case so don't misquote me here but for those unaware of the law
It is lawful to throw the first “punch” and it doesn't invalidate a claim of self-defence. 2: you used “reasonable force” to repel the actual attack or reasonably-believed imminent attack
So again, context is important here, for which we have none currently
We have a clip cut at a point which makes the MP look bad, understandably
Ben Stokes got off for similar, which will have shocked people I am sure

There's a full video available which shows the guy who got hit just standing in front of him. His hands are by his side and he doesn't appear threatening in any way. He's then punched to the floor and the punches continue when he's on the floor until the MP is pulled away from him. I'm no solicitor but I don't think there's much of a case for self defence there.

I did see footage from a camera phone that saw him saying something like “you’ll not threaten me again” so I wonder if that will form his defence?

To be fair to Bournemouth, not believing what you see on Twitter is a very sensible position to take. It looks bad from the cctv, but that’s only a snapshot in time. There could ah e been an altercation before then as far as we know. I’d just let the police do their job and then if he’s proved to be the aggressor he deserves all he gets.
Stupidly late time to be out for a man of his age anyway. I’m younger and need to be tucked up in bed at 10 lol.
Bit differnet as he was attacked first with an egg but don’t think John Prescott faced any disciplinary or legal issues after he (rightly) punched that protestor

Starmer can withdraw the whip but he can’t remove him from HoC.
I think after seeing the decent connection that Amesbury made with the first punch Starmer will be treading very carefully when it comes to disciplinary action...
