Same same.

I'm sure he could have done something for us.

Let's face it, he was instrumental last season, imagine what a few more months under God would have given him.

Will be forever in Town folklore.

Shouldn't forget that late leveller at Leicester as well (or the own goal as they call it)

I liked Sarmiento and wish we’d retained him. Great character too.

Sweardown that the internet was made just for watching endless re-runs of that goal with the Titanic soundtrack overlaid.

Say we kept him - it would have meant we didn't sign one of the others. Which summer signing would he replace?

There was South American video with a commentator going crazy for the Leicester goal. It was classy but taken down.

I guess it would have been instead of Jack Clarke? Think there must have been reasons why we didn’t retain any of the short term loans though as we also didn’t go back in for Moore or Travis. Williams we know why.

Which one or who wouldn't we have signed exactly?

As much as Sunderland fans loved him, and as much as it is still early days, Jack Clarke cost a lot of money, and is a million miles from having the affection amongst Town fans that Sarmiento still holds.

Would have taken Jeremy back for Jack Clarke, however good he is on the ball Sarmiento was a better sub. Good on the ball, heading and tackling in later stages of a game and miss his song.

Clarke is the obvious choice isn’t he. And I agree that he hasn’t had the impact in the games he’s played in that Sarmiento had in the games he played in.

But in his defence I’d say that he hasn’t played as much yet and he’s in a much, much higher league.

I’m not convinced that Sarmy gave us much more than a few ‘live in the memory’ moments - and when Clarke gets a 97th minute winner against Southampton at home that keeps us up I reckon he’ll be loved as well. The thinking has to be that Clarkes one for the future with a higher ceiling than Sarmy. No room for sentiment in this game.

It's amazing he was backup to Broadhead or at least an alternative to him, now Broadhead isn't even getting a look in with Szmodics and Clarke here, you have to feel him

Jack Clarke has more to offer (potentially) than Jeremy in my view. I’d have signed JS instead of Chiedozie Ogbene on the basis that with the gift of foresight I knew 1 September we’d lose him for the season with injury. Yeah, right…..

In other words, I’ve no idea Vic. The point is well made that for every one that you bring in, somebody has to go given you can only register so many players.
