They aren't out of this game. Brighton are doing that thing where they think they can play without getting out of second gear and that will be enough. It may well be but this is where Southampton's sh1teness could earn them unexpected results.

Fernandes is a good player for them and Dibling has bags of potential. Other than that, there's not much that says to me they'll avoid relegation.
Downes is having a tough time. Some of the Brighton midfielders are being very clever in inviting late contact from him. He's not as street smart as super Samy Morsy yet.
Brighton are a bit sloppy in places, but that comes from how they build their attacks which are inventive and fun to watch. |  | | |

With the exception of Dibling they really suffer from a lack of quality right across the pitch. The Spanish commentator just said they paid 20 million for Archer, I don't know how true that is but whenever I've seen him he's been way off Premier level.
I think Walker-Peters might be the player to get a red, Rutter is really winding him up.
Even if Martin did get the sack I don't know what another manager could do with the players. Maybe cut out the defensive mistakes from over-playing but that wouldn't be enough to get them out of the bottom three, or bottom one even. |  | | |

I'm not wanting to laud it over them because when all is said and done, our outcomes in May could be very similar. But in saying that, we at least seem to be learning, getting Prem savvy and improving with each game.
They on the other hand are continuing to make the same mistakes time and time again while looking completely powder puff. It could be down to Martin but the games they are getting a sniff in, are when clubs ease up because they think they are easy pickings or like Everton, missing sitters. | |

From my in the know Saints friend, Martin has a very big severance package and the board don't have any suitable replacements lined up, so they're going to let the season pan out as is,then reassess in the summer( likely when Martins relegation clause kicks in) | | | |
