Al Hamadi 17:27 - Dec 14 with 4379 viewsBluecasp

Special call out for Al Hamadi today, thought he did really well when he came on. Worked hard, linked up play well a couple of times, created a good chance for himself and looked much stronger. Goes to show how quickly players can improve when they get minutes on the pitch and start to understand the Prem better.

Also felt Burns put in his best performance of the season today.

I think the fact that KMc no longer does his mass attacking subs around the 60 minute mark makes it so much harder for people like AAH to come in and impose themselves (Not a dig on KMc)

Be interesting to see if he starts if Delap is suspended. Or whether he remains impact player.

Yes, Burns actually had some space in behind and was back to what you would normally expect.

I agree he is definitely becoming more effective! I have high hopes that when he does go out on loan, he will score goals wherever he goes.

Same with Wes, held his own and played the villian against Ait-Nouri very nicely.

I don't know why some are so negative about him because every time I've seen him come on he's done well and it's only a matter of time before he grabs a late goal.

He has a very nice habit of hustling players and coming out with the ball when they don't expect it. Quick and strong too. And we know he can finish.

Think a big part of it is he's technically very untidy. Not great close ball control/dribbling etc. but that's just not his game. He is a menace and a poacher. Good size, reasonable speed. Gets in good areas and harasses defenders etc. He hits a good ball and has great instincts and movement in the box.

I don't think he's prem ready but he's just one of those players that will score goals.

The reason VAR didn't dive offside to Al Hamadi for our goal is because he is largely incapable of interfering with play.

I thought he looked out of his depth again today, which isn't a dig because we bought him to develop in the Championship.

I thought he looked effective when he came on against Bournemouth but I struggle that he comes on ahead of Broadhead.

Did well again I agree. Works his socks off and chases chaos just through persistence and direct approach..

I think the abuse is because the last two seasons we could overwhelm teams with three quality subs at 70 mins, hence the amount of late goals we scored.

This year it's ridiculous for us to expect three Prem' ready players as subs given the amount we have had to spend on the starting 11 just to stay competitive. This has led to him coming on for 15 mins once delap is knackered and inevitably we are under the cosh and conceded goals.

He has been ok the times I have seen him, however I'm not filled with optimism that he will be a game changer just yet at this level. Just crap luck that hirst is injured again.

Like all of our players(and manager) there is still a lot of acclimatizing to do and they do seem to be building it, week-by-week. Thought he had another decent cameo today.

Next week is going to be interesting who plays up top.

Didnt see that. has it been confirmed? He was nowhere near the footage of Nouri's tantrum. BBC shows Nouri's red but nothing for us.

I knew you hadn't heard about it - otherwise we'd have had an 8th new post complaining about the referee/VAR since kick-off.

He opened his mouth at the end and got booked for it again. Pretty stupid thing to do , especially as he keeps doing it.

Does record Nouri.

Glad you mentioned this. I rate him highly. It's a shame we can't play a 4-4-2 with nothing Al Hamadi and Delap up front

I really think k Al Hamadi is a honest player and will give his all in a game. Definitely deserves more game time . There are good times to come from this player.

As mentioned in earlier posts , we might be even more of a dangerous attacking team with Leif playing left midfield. We can put Connor Townsend in at left back, he is certainly good enough. Another option is to recall Cameron Humphreys from his loan.

I think AAH has something about him. He sort of looks ‘small’ on the pitch. He’s not, he’s 6ft tall. He is a bustling sort of player that leaves the opposition with bruises. Looks a handful, but at 22 is still learning. When I’ve seen him he’s not looked particularly fit - is he carrying injury still?

It’s asking a lot of him to start Premier League games. I know Delap is slightly younger, but he’s a different type of forward and has had a very different development path. I have high hopes for AAH but do think the second half of the season playing week in week out for say a reasonable Championship side would do him the world of good. But needs must and if he starts next week, who knows. One thing’s for sure, he will give his all.

With players like Al Hamadi at the club we are in a good place. He will score goals if given good service, like every striker.
We don't need him to go out on loan.

‘Leaves the opposition with bruises’

Exactly why he’s got more bookings in his appearances than shots on target.
