Well butter my crumpets! 19:45 - Dec 25 with 3505 views | Ryorry | If that wasn't the best Wallace & Gromit yet - my fav TV of the year so far - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0022179/wallace-gromit-vengeance-most-fow Just ace with the jokes, from the gnome-bot singing "pointlessly blowing leaves about" to the captcha verification requiring Feathers to click on all images containing cheese! Lovely visual references to the Ribblehead Viaduct & 'The Great Escape' too.

Well butter my crumpets! on 20:00 - Dec 25 with 3432 views | BlueBoots | Had a busy few weeks so went into it blind...was expecting it to be one of their half hour shorts, so getting a whole feature film was an unexpected extra Christmas present Actually got quite emotional watching it...felt like Peter Sallis was still at work; incredible work from Ben Whitehead!

It's why decent people pay the licence fee.

Well butter my crumpets! on 20:16 - Dec 25 with 3355 views | Meadowlark | I fell asleep......... Not a criticism of the movie, more due to an accumulation of ale, dinner and age. Good news is I can watch it later.
Well butter my crumpets! on 20:48 - Dec 25 with 3211 views | azuremerlangus | A little nod to the start of Porridge (“Norman Stanley Fletcher, you are a habitial criminal…”) when Feathers McGraw is getting locked up. Didn’t see another reference to Citizen Kane in this one - probably need to watch it a few times to catch all the little details. Top stuff as usual. [Post edited 25 Dec 2024 20:49]

Well butter my crumpets! on 07:58 - Dec 26 with 2664 views | mikeybloo88 | Nice little nod to Shawshank with Feathers hiding his spyhole behind a poster in his cell. Also a MI and Tom Cruise reference I think when Gromit was scrambling up the barge as it toppled over the edge? | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Well butter my crumpets! on 10:40 - Dec 26 with 2495 views | thebooks | The low speed canal chase was fun, as was Feathers’ nun disguise. Nice anti-AI Luddite message too.

... but still no-one spotted my deliberate mistake ... . . . . . . . . Was 'The Italian Job' - not The Great Escape

Another MI nod when he leapt from his boat to the penguin's in the tunnel. Very much enjoyed this but TWT remains their high-water mark. It really was a masterpiece. Favourite moment in VMF? Wallace's gnome-knitted onesie, in the style of his usual outfit. Hilarious.
Well butter my crumpets! on 18:15 - Dec 26 with 2200 views | OldFart71 | My wife said she couldn't believe we were watching Wallace and Grommit, she's late sixties and I'm mid seventies. But we both thought it was one of the best, if not the best things on tv over Christmas. Magical, funny and entertaining.

I'm same age as you. One of the reasons for Nick Parks/Aardman Studios continuing success is that there's plenty of fun in the films for all age groups. Brazil & IamaTractorBoy's mentions of The Wrong Trousers have have got me thinking I should re-watch that - if it's the one with the model railway sequence at the end? Almost needed surgery to my sides after watching that back in the day.

Yes it is that one, it's hysterically funny!
Well butter my crumpets! on 21:39 - Dec 26 with 1937 views | stonojnr | I liked it, but I liked Grand Day Out and the Wrong Trousers more, because I felt they had a cogent story and plot, characters did meaningful things to progress the plot, not because it was just a clever jokes/reference to something else. I mean just look at how everyone is discussing it, its all about the in jokes & references people spotted, not the story, which was cracker thin Gromit. Compared to how do you explain to someone a Grand Day Out or the Wrong Trousers, you dont go oh theres this scene which is about this clever reference to another film, its they build a rocket go to the moon to find cheese, or Wallaces invention gets used in a diamond heist by a penguin disguised as a chicken. still best thing on over Christmas and best W&G since A Close Shave.
