You're forgetting the cross he came for, realised he wasn't gonna make it, almost threw it in the goal and then stopped it?

It's a great night but let's not get carried away here. He had basically nothing to do. For all Chelsea's possession they created very little.

Yes, but for all those people claiming Walton is a "League One" keeper without even Champ experience unfit for the Prem, doesn't seem like it right. Saved a variety of shots and corners. Also defenders look a lot more confident with Walton in goal. I guess Woolfy, O'Shea, Greaves & Co know that Walton won't inexplicably go kamikaze

For a keeper to come in and play like he did tonight after the occasional cup game since Liverpool was superb. He’s shown with his level of performance in tonight’s game and against Liverpool he can perform at this level, which will give him belief and confidence. Whatever the reason for Muric starting on the bench, Walton has made it a tough GK decision to make for KM for the game at Fulham on Sunday, which is what we want.

In a funny way, I think Walton’s performance tonight will help Muric, he now knows he’s got serious competition for that GK shirt now. That will give him added focus.

Have to admit the defence looks a lot calmer with him in goal. However his kicking was no better than Murics, he pulled off some good saves but was not as good as commanding the box

Was it just the R5l comms, or did KM all but shout "hoof it" when giving the players instructions round about the 80th minute?!

As Paul Robinson said, when you're 2-0 up in the 80th minute against a top team with players like Palmer in it, why invite problems by playing dangerous short passes in & around the edge of your box? Get it up the pitch, even if that's not your normal style.

Pretty refreshing to hear that the most serious goalkeeping difficulty we got into was a mistake Walton nearly might have made but, yknow, didn't. I think we'll take that won't we?

What a night.

Walton did a fantastic job tonight but to be fair to Muric, it was clear Walton had been told not to play short and lump it towards Delap unless there was someone in 10 yards of space. Most of Muric's "errors" have come from our rigidity about not going long. There's a place for both, I just wish we'd find a balance. Still, absolutely blinding result.

Doesn't command his area as well as Muric but made some vital saves. One thing that stood out for me was his decision making. Knew when to go short and when to go long. Extremely professional when he had th ball. Before going short he looked around him and looked behind him.

Not entirely faultless, he had his own Muric moment and nearly put Cole Palmer in for an easy chance, he can thank his lucky stars that Wolfy was alert and got his toe to it.

Overall though a very good performance, expect to see him between the sticks for a while now.

Muric had little to do against Arsenal and we lost 1-0. You should give Walton credit for being out for so long and coming into a game of that magnitude and pulling off saves to give us our first home win of the season and only our second clean sheet, no?

I saw Walton’s mouth move to speak a few times. Never ever have I seen Muric’s lips move ever.

Welcome change for me. The wood head keeper can stay on the bench for the rest of the season.

That's where Walton is better than Muric, he's a solid organised keeper

Muric probably has more talent but is a bit raw and wild

Certainly not faultless. I was delighted to see him in but if Muric had made some of the kicking passes Walton made he would’ve been lynched.

Some great saves though and I hope he continues in goal for a bit

I'm not denying him any credit, I'm pointing out that people are going absolutely wild here for not much reason. If Muric had made that mistake on the cross, and made that pass to Palmer at the end of the game, we wouldn't hear the end of it. Walton didn't fine in a game where he didn't have a lot to do. This doesn't mean he's the best goalkeeper we've ever had. A lot of people are reaching because they just don't like Muric. Just needs to calm down.

Enjoy the win for what it is, glad for Walton to be a part of it.

Walton’s kicking was no worse than Muric’s the other night and folk on here have repeatedly said, “Walton can’t kick”. At least they stayed on the pitch! It was clearly a ploy to go longer to get Delap against Tosin and Colwill as they are most definitely not, Gabriel and Saliba.

He probably would have been lynched if a goal had come from it. Mistakes tend to be forgiven when they don't lead to anything, unless they happen time and time again.

For me it’s the communication aspect , Muric just doesn’t seem interested in his job , strange to say I know , even lining up free kick defence wall he says nothing….very strange keeper IMHO.

Walton didn't have a lot to do? Bar one awful pass which had Muric written all over it, his distribution was on point, he pulled out some key saves, he dominated his box when he needed to and seemed, in general, to enable the defence in front of him to stay calm and focused. He was a key component to the win, and provided more than Muric has this season for the most part.

If he's dropped as soon as Muric is well I, for one, will be extremely disappointed.
