Mind you, not playing should stop the happy haters holding back. The bloke I sit next to has a go at Harry Clarke every game even if he isn’t playing. There was a mild pause when Harry smashed that goal in against somebody, but he was setting about him within a few minutes.

If the "point" is that AAH is not an answer, that's not news to anybody. All that's really expected of him at this point is to scrap around and keep defenders occupied, and since the general consensus is that we should have been managing the game out at the stage he came on rather than trying to create a third goal, there's not really anything to criticise him to the blubby degree of the OP. |
He's not really a sub you can bring on to manage a game or to chase a goal. Think that's his point. He came on. Fouled them a few times. Didn't chase a ball and then the whistle went. I personally don't know how people think he disrupts defenders, imo they breath a sigh of relief that he's coming on. |  |

I don't particularly agree with the delivery here - I don't blame him. He looks worse because of the level he's being asked to play at.

We are allowed to say that players played badly or that they aren’t at the level we need.
I know a lot of the responses on here are around the OTT OP, but there has been a real trend lately around ANY comments which aren’t positive being accused as scapegoating etc. People have to be allowed to calmly debate that both Clarkes may not be up to this level, that Muric has weaknesses and that AAH is clearly not fit enough/developed enough to play in the top flight on current showings. Even rational comments are hit with pushback.
Several things let us down today - Morsy and Leif’s stupid challenges and IMO Delap coming off - he surely could have lasted 10 more minutes.

People have ignored the main issue wasn't my posting. They know online boards is a mixed place. I went ott with it mind up. But that still wasn't the issue solely.
The issue was when supporters starting messaging wes directly. That should never happen. So when you combine posts like mine were and then people start messaging directly. That's to far for someone doing their best in the shirt.
however there is a way of talking about a player. The OP is strong. I don't agree with the wording but I agree with the sentiment. | |

The Captain and the Manager have asked supporters not to conduct scapegoating on our own players because it can only help the opposition. There seems to be plenty that disagree and will carry on regardless.
Presumably, given it was McKenna that sent him on, it’ll soon be time for the grumpybunch to start on him to try and get him out? Why not? He picks the team and sends subs on. I’m sure they’d love a new manager. The speculation, the reveal, the scarf, the badge kissing. Hurrah. I wouldn’t.
The reality is that AAH doesn’t deserve to receive words like ‘cart horse’. We all know what his current level is and have a good idea his fitness. I suspect McKenna and the coaches have a bit of a clue too. We are light on forwards. But everyone wants those and it was always a worry going into a season with just Hirst and Delap.
Hopefully, things will improve with the transfer window but if they don’t, I think the ownership and manager have enough credit in the bank for most sideline idiots like me to accept the situation for what it is. [Post edited 5 Jan 19:26]
