I can’t watch that cart horse, unfit bloke come on for us anymore 18:11 - Jan 5 with 20722 views | textbackup | Please just bring on anyone but him to play the last 5/10 until we get in someone semi decent. How can a professional footballer be that unfit for 5mins

Seen quite a few derogatory comments and personal attacks made to him when he vents his frustration on here , don’t see what he said in his original post that warrants some of the abuse he gets.

Texters is more than capable of dishing it out when he wants to. I'm sure he can take it in return.

Probably brings him on as a sharp reminder to the recruitment team that we need a striker urgently asap.

I can’t watch that cart horse, unfit bloke come on for us anymore on 19:40 - Jan 5 by Churchman | It is. But describing somebody as ‘sht’ and a ‘cart horse’ when he’s one of our players is not going to help. People are entitled to their opinions, obviously. But if this forum is just a place to deliver as much abuse as possible towards our own players to the extent that it and other forms of social media drive the Manager and Captain ask people to ease off and are subsequently completely ignored, then maybe it’s time for me to have a break. |
Don't have a break Churchers. You bring a lot to this place. There are a few people who sometimes make this place unbearable, but I just try to remind myself it's their board as much as it's mine and I just try to ignore them. Engaging with some of them is a pointless exercise.

Spot on ta bud. Just completely done with watching him play for us. Even if it’s for 5mins here and there. He’s absolutely miles off it in quality, looks horribly unfit, and yesterday didn’t even show desire. Of course his appearance doesn’t define the game, and yes two much better players cost us in terms of stupid tackles in the box, over all I think it was a pretty solid away performance against a very good team.

I wouldn’t worry Bazza, a few letters/words thrown together on a forum won’t scratch the surface.

I can’t watch that cart horse, unfit bloke come on for us anymore on 08:45 - Jan 6 with 1631 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | I did think it was strange that Ali came on when he did. I though leaving Delap on for 5 more mins and then make the change in injury time (if we were still winning to kill the clock). The OP is a little bit dramatic mind, ultimately he was not the reason we dropped points yesterday and I think everyone including the manager knows he needs to go on loan and play more football matches. Which I'm sure will happen when we sign another striker. [Post edited 6 Jan 8:49]

I can’t watch that cart horse, unfit bloke come on for us anymore on 10:00 - Jan 6 with 1528 views | ford6600 | AAH should be loaned out this window to championship side to give him games and see what his level is. Final 10 minute cameos aren't working. The minimum requirement is he chases everything which he doesn't always and he seems more of a liability in the box as he has inadvertently blocked one or two of our own efforts on goal or strayed into offside positions this season. Perhaps Townsend on as left back to replace Delap and push Leif upfield for final 10 minutes?

Watching him give up on chasing a ball that he could've got to really irked me yesterday - the absolute minimum is you give your all and be a nuisance for 10 minutes. Even I could do that if you brought me on for Delap. By no means saying he's a PL footballer, but at least Kayden Jackson would've been sprinting after everything...

The OP has gone in way too strong and made it a bit personal with the name calling. I met his family at the Etihad and they were all dressed in town shirts with his name on the back. They're obviously so unbelievably proud of him. But something definitely doesn't look right with him, and if it is a long term injury then a loan is surely not what he needs

I can’t watch that cart horse, unfit bloke come on for us anymore on 22:08 - Jan 5 by SomethingBlue | Completely agree - we are on the right track, the last three matches should give everyone a lot of confidence. |
We have tightened up the defence post Newcastle and are scoring more than one goal a game, which will always give us a chance. If we can get just over a point a game from now until the end of the season we should be fine.

Playing games at a less intensity may serve him well if it's an injury that can't be fixed until the summer again but he can still play games with it. similar to H Clarkes Achilles issue last season.

Is it going to be less intense? It's not like he's putting his body on the line now and the championship is going to be more games, more minutes, tougher surfaces, some pretty tough defences etc I don't think he'd be able to carry his current form into the championship

KJ would have been a far far better option to have for that final 15mins. Someone somewhere must be absolutely kicking themselves for spending so much time on the deals that didn’t materialise. I know it’s all ifs and butts, but not having quality on the pitch (to replace Delap) has cost us points this season

It's not his fault though is it, it's more a recruitment issue, he clearly wasn't brought in to be an impact sub in he PL, he was a project signing for a championship club. I agree he isn't up to scratch, he's clearly not confident in his body which is why he looks like he runs through treacle. Hopefully he'll either get surgery to sort out whatever issue he has or he is ok and just needs a loan lower down to learn his trade. Pretty confident we won't have to utilise him again this season.

But if it's like clarkes injury last year it may be something that feels better after 5/10 minutes of playing once it's loosened up.

I think McKenna has said that his groin surgery didn't quite work out so it seems likely he's training/playing in pain which will further impact his ability to get back to the speed he had before. I think the running stats that were included in this article (i.e. his sprints etc were of a Premier league level even when he was playing in League 2) were probably one of the reasons we signed him in the first place. https://www.scoutednotebook.com/p/scouted-christmas-wishlist I hope for his own health and future fitness we get someone else in soon so that he can get any further treatment he needs.
