Have to accept we're going to lose many more than we win, and that's been the case all the way through. So you're probably right.

Other than a 20 minute spell disagree. Results went for us last night even a 1-0 defeat would have kept us 4th bottom. A massive opportunity missed and another home game where we ought to get at least a point and got nothing (Everton, Palace etc). This will not be enough Wolves lost 3-0 last night but showed way more than what we did against a much better side. | | | |

First half we were pretty decent and grew into the half. Broadhead was looking lively.l and Burns very good.
2nd half was horrible. Just got schooled by Brighton. The team and McKenna didn’t really have an answer. Delap didn’t get a kick.
It happens, they’ll learn and we keep the faith but for me that was the worst half of the season because a game we look like potentially winning we just had nothing to offer 2nd half and was slightly deflating |  |

I’m satisfied with tonight because it was us playing in the Premier League. After the dross we’ve endured pre-McKenna it feels great to be in the top division with a packed (and greatly enhanced) Portman Road supporting a team of players who are better than we’ve had for 20 years. For these reasons I’m happy and can walk away from a defeat with a shrug and acceptance that established Premier League teams like Brighton are a long way ahead of us.
What I can’t say hand on heart based on tonight is that I thought it was satisfactory from the point of view of staying up. It was an off-night, it happens. If you’re suggesting the level we were at tonight was even close to where we need to be at to stay up you’re way off. If that’s our level (it isn’t, we’re better than we showed tonight) we’ll do well to pick up more than a handful of points between now and the end of the season. | |

Performance levels were fine 1st half but can’t agree 2nd half. We looked a bit lost, especially after conceding, lost concentration and everything was just a bit off and disjointed.
A really bad half unfortunately after Burns half chance early 2nd half. Our performance nose dived quickly and don’t think Kieran will have been happy with that
I’m optimistic but can’t see how any fan can say they are satisfied with tonight. A real missed opportunity and with two incredibly difficult games ahead of us.

Yeah I think I buy that too.
Brighton did a good job on stifling us and our crowd first 45. We had a couple of good efforts to take the lead, but their keeper saved well.
2nd half we didn't lay a glove on them. I would have liked to have seen Godfrey. I assume burns was played to nullify mitoma, which I suppose he did. But Wes gave the ball away too easily 2nd half.
We gave away a really soft goal and it was tough after that.
Brighton number 34 I think is a personal friend of the ref. How he only got booked in the 90th minute I'll never know. Numerous times he fouled and feigned injury.
For me the worst thing about the prem is the amount of cheating by players. We must bring in a sportsmanship award. Kills the game. |  | | |

Nah it was underwhelming. Thought we were good for about 50m, then their slightly fortunate goal caused a complete collapse. Lost confidence, got pinned in our half, and made too many mistakes. Attacking subs brought on ten minutes too late IMO. Walton is no better than Muric. |  | | |

The three worked well against Arsenal, defensively, Chelsea and Fulham plus the first half tonight - even when Brighton had possession we ensured it was in non-threatening areas. The second half was heading the same way; they started with the possession but we controlled where they had the ball. We were just working our way into it, and they scored almost out of nothing. The biggest concern is how we seemed to let the goal get to us, and had no response whatsoever. | |

Its a prem game. We did well. We didn't have a good 2nd half. We move on.
From the I really want to stay up view
We had them on the ropes. We came out 2nd half looking like we didn't know what game we were playing.
Wins are tough to get. We've had a few. We need prob another 7. Home games are key and we had the opportunity tonight to get at least a point against a side who had not won in 8 games yet we blew that opportunity so I'm really annoyed. |  |

I think a line in your last sentence is part of the issue that many people have with tonights result “we had every reason to be confident”. I think there was a huge amount of misplaced confidence going into tonight’s game. Our best performance of the season by far (IMO) was against Fulham and we still found a way not to win that match. If anything, we had a weaker squad available tonight and I simply can’t understand why people were so buoyed for tonight’s game and of the opinion that we would win 🤷♂️ I felt a draw was the likely outcome for tonight and at half time, it seemed inevitable, neither team had done enough to justify a win. The second half tonight was an absolute horror show from us, they didn’t need to work for that result, we handed it to them, unfortunately. [Post edited 16 Jan 23:14]

Our problem is once we go behind that seems to be it. Probably exacerbated by the fact last season we kept coming back from losing positions, but this season virtually nothing.

I wasn't as forlorn leaving tonight as I was against Palace, which is now my reference point for bleak journeys home. Imprecision cost us in the end.
Broadhead was lively and came close. Omari had opportunities, one good and a couple spurned. Delap had a decent effort where the smart play was probably cutting it back to Leif on the outside. We came far closer to scoring tonight than in the 0-0 siege at their place, even if Delap almost scored a worldie that day.
Once they scored, which again was imprecision on our part really, a needless blunder or two, we didn't look close to getting back in it though. In that respect it was very reminiscent of Forest away and it's my biggest worry. There was no belief in the stadium either once we conceded - you could hear a pin drop for the best part of ten minutes afterwards. | | | |

Completely possible not to over-react and be under-whelmed and disappointed with the team. This was a type of game we need to get points from... or at least put up more of a fight. If we maintain this level... we will be relegated.
Need a better, more gutsy performance against City... even if we lose. Too easy for Brighton in the end.
This trying to be too calm and sensible seems a bit contrived and fakey. If you're satisfied with that... why even bother watching games? | | | |
