with Wolves.

I would've taken that beforehand.

They have both of them still to play as well.

If they could lose Cunha too would be good.

Yes, wasn't looking very promising earlier in the day. Not too bad of a goal difference but bad that Everton got that win ( even a draw would have been OK ).

Think we have to recognise that Moyes will take Everton away from the battle.

Only need to get and stay ahead of Wolves ... or Spurs/Man Utd/West Ham!

Everton look like pulling away, but it might not take much for them to be pulled back into it. They have to play Liverpool twice!

Yes, unfortunately I think Everton made a very sensible appointment bringing Moyes back. I feel like it’s his natural home.

Yep.

Wasn't looking forward to these 2 games at all, just never likely to be competitive at all, so nothing to enjoy.

But they are done now, and we can focus on games where we can try and have a proper go again.

Yup, absolutely the key point to take (as well as promising debuts for Philogene and Enciso). Wolves still have to go to Anfield and Maine Road (whatever) AND Portman Road.

Possibly/probably a four horse race now, but I still seriously fancy us in that.

But now we simply have to win next week. If anything the last two weeks have been pressure off. I’m actually at ease with the 10-1 aggregate defeats in the last week.

It’s looking like a 2 from 3 situation. And after playing 4 of the top 10 teams twice I would have taken that.

We also have individuals arisen from this period who have put themselves in a position to start against Southampton. For me that’s Broadhead and Enciso.

Absolutely agree with this. We (as a fanbase) weren't expecting anything from these two matches. We are in a decent position with as good a fixture as we can hope to expect at the moment. It will still be hard, but we'll hopefully be in a position to give them a really good game.

..and we have the manager to get the team back on track and tuned in for that game next week.

And crucially, and this can't be over-emphasised, the fantastic support you travelling fans give, particularly after the game and after a defeat like that, is SO important, especially perhaps to the new boys, who don't yet fully appreciate what a club they've come to.

So - WELL DONE AGAIN TRAVELLING BLUE ARMY, YOU WERE SUPERB (as a lot of Liverpool fans are recognising on various media at the moment)

I didn't expect Manchester City to be SO much better than Chelsea.

Yep. Christian Walton commented on how good it was getting the reaction that they got from the fans after the Man City game.

We have to stay positive, it could make a big difference!

That's exactly it.

We're competing with other teams struggling for points and they have to face Liverpool and Man City.

Wolves played Chelsea and Arsenal, so there was always a good chance it would happen. The biggest shame is the change in goal difference.

What's particularly annoying about the goal difference change, is that the stats for Wolves against Chelsea were almost identical to us vs City, but City finished almost every chance.

Chelsea had an Xg of 3.15 from 19 shots, City Xg was 2.84 from 17 shots.

Wolves still have to go to the Etihad & Anfield.

That may play into our favour.
