Does lack of activity today show we are resigned to relegation? 18:34 - Feb 3 with 2334 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

It was suggested earlier on SSN that the lack of activity today by the current bottom three suggests those three are resigned to be relegated and do not wish to hamper their financial obligations by gambling on a "staying up" signing.
Thoughts?

Not in the slightest. Today isn’t the only day of the transfer window and sky sports have to waffle to fill the airtime.

I'm guessing SSN are aware that its not only today that signings can be made and its possible that some have already been done?

Or are they just filling up endless airtime by spouting sh1te?

Get the dildo wavers back and Harry Redknapp for that matter - or both, at the same time

We've made signings, one of which cost £20m. That doesn't suggest a side that's resigned to relegation.

by reckoning we have signed or loaned
Godfrey
Philogene
Enciso

A Chelsea youth

Is that inactive?

...we haven't signed a CF, despite letting one go probably shows that we don't feel it's worth going "all in" on staying up.

Obviously we haven't given up, but not committing to another CF speaks volumes to me.

Yep. This rolling news, 24 hour deadline day sky crap has really altered perceptions.

We used to see stuff announced the next day on Ceefax and came to no harm.

Ah, twtd. Page 302 wasn’t it? Patiently waiting for any itfc news only for ceefax to inexplicably skip a page so you had to sit through the same 10 pages again.

I think us getting defeated at home by a team who looked better when they were managed by Russell Martin is probably more of a sign of that.

Glory days:

Back in the days when teams would 'swoop' for a player. Does that still happen? Don't think I've heard that word used in years.

I'll always remember our favourite Dave Allard when we signed Brian Gayle.

'Gayle blows in to Town' or something. Genius.

Do you reckon the £10k for Steve Whitton was paid in an envelope stuffed with used tenners, handed over in a layby just before the Hadleigh turn-off ?

Even for those days, it seems a bizarre fee

No disrespect intended to Ali, but do you really think him leaving us has weakened us? We’re a bit light there, but Delap + Hirst is as good as Delap + Hirst + Al Hamadi (based on what we’ve seen this season). Better even, as Al Hamadi has been a hinderance, sadly.
