you might be on to something here. also llama poo is renowned for making one of the best garden composts so it's all good news.

What’s wrong with treating people with respect and dignity? Doesn’t mean that you agree with them but better that, than going in two-footed from the start.

Piers Morgan has a real issue with strong women in power and over the last few years constantly tries to demean them in anyway he can.

His feed is also a peacock show for Trump/Musk and MAGA now he is effectively self-employed on his YouTube channel.

so what does treating someone who identifies as a llama with 'respect and dignity' actually involve. do we have to believe that they're a llama?

In all fairness, Piers is a prime example of how a little b**ch can also be a massive pr**k.

He goes on-and-on about snowflakes and the younger generation lacking mental strength, but when the weatherman from GMTV told him a few home truths he walked out sulking - just like a petulant spoilt child.

No idea - maybe hold out your hands and feed them carrots.

I once went to a farm which had llamas and I thought I was some distance from them, turned my back and the next thing I knew, one of them was eating the carrots I was holding. Totally surprised me -had to go back to the farm shop as my youngest started to cry as he didn’t have anything to feed the other animals.

Going back to your question - treating people with respect doesn’t mean you agree with them so I don’t think you have to believe that they are a llama.

I really want to do walking alpacas. There's a place near me that does it. Might do it for my birthday. I love alpacas.

I like the cut of her jib, and she seems very suitable for the role as a a health minister given her and her family's issues with cancer, as well as her campaigning on this issue.

whenever i've encountered llamas they've always seemed a decent sort, though they have a reputation for being a bit kicky. so respectfully not approaching them from behind may be one element.

i agree with your last sentence. respect doesn't mean that you have to agree with them or confirm something that you know not to be true. i wouldn't want to be rude to someone who thought they were a llama, or harass them or discriminate against them in any way. but i would continue to use human language and not place their food in a bucket.

Weren't you making a very similar point in another thread when you didn't like people's response to you viewpoint

You don't have to agree with someone to be respectful towards them, right?

well quite. my point was that it is good disagree civilly and respectfully.

but do you think that dignity and respect is consistent with me stating, when relevant, that they are still biologically human rather that biologically llama? or do i need to keep that fact to myself?

Given how many socially conservative neoliberal capitalists seem to identify as Labour voters, I don't think the idea of a person identifying as a llama is really that odd.

However indulgent or irrelevant this is, Id prefer her 'safe' hands to Trump or Musks. Well done in being drawn into the right-wing culture wars. Hook, line and sinker.
