Someone explain to me how that on 20:47 - Mar 3 with 1462 views | Matt_Netherlands | Ridiculous isn’t it. Especially as he “hurt” his head from heading the back of our players head!
Someone explain to me how that on 20:48 - Mar 3 with 1440 views | redrickstuhaart | If they blow to stop the game for injury whilst ball in the box, it goes to the keeper. Of course, he could easily have blown whilst the ball was out of the box but waited until the player was getting up and the ball was back in the box. Awful rule. Implemented in incompetent fashion. Not sure how the rules are but the ball was out of the area when the ref stopped play so why not allow a contested one where the ball was? There seems to be a policy of not having contested ones.

It being in the laws of the game doesn't stop it being ridiculous, players should just start dropping and holding their heads whenever the opposition get into the box.

Surely there is some expectation in that situation that the ball will be returned to ipswich even if the ball starts with the keeper?

Sorry, your original question seemed to be asking why it was an uncontested drop ball so I explained why. To your point, they often do drop and claim a head injury. It’s happened in this game.

The referee whispered something in Sels ear and he booted it in to touch on the half way. So I guess that’s what happened. But there’s nothing in law to say they have to.

I think they passed it around the back a couple of times before it was booted out - which looked like an overhit pass rather than a deliberate attempt to give us the ball back

I think that if the referee tells them to do so and they then don't it is seen as unsporting conduct and a yellow card. The keeper didn't look happy with the ref telling him to.

Disgraceful officiating. No difference. Its a drop ball to our keeper. Just biased and wrong. And he knew it, which is why he gave a very soft foul immediately afterwards.

Disgusting yellow. Morsy was only asking him, as his right as Captain, why the ref was giving in uncontested drop ball on the edge of our box. A ref who isn’t an insecure coward can just deal with that.

Certainly should have been able to explain the difference. Instead the booking makes it look like he can't.
