I've posted before asking for advice on it and no-one was able to help (you must've missed it). Basically I got an email from instagram one day saying I'd gone against their community guidelines, but didn't say how, and that I needed to click an appeal button. I wasn't able to access my insta to even see what might be the problem, so just clicked the appeal button. A couple of hours later came the automated reply that my appeal had failed. And I soon got a message from facebook saying I'd been suspended there too, as they were linked. I've tried all sorts of ways to contact Meta (who own both) but no reply.
I know I hadn't posted anything controversial on insta, and have since learned this has happened to quite a few people. They just seem to have a cull now and again, and it's probably not even humans deciding who gets the chop.
Apparently hackers can recover both accounts but I don't know one I'd trust!
If there are any well-known TWTDers with hacking skills (or with a good experience of a hacker) I'd be tempted. Otherwise the only other option seems to be to create new accounts for both and build them up again, but that seems like a hell of a chore! |  |

I’ve had this happen myself for work things, however it would have to happen an unrealistic number of times without challenge to get an account suspended.

This discussion has nothing to do with you so why are you yet again trying to bait me? When you tried this before I mentioned that I'm going through a tough time at the moment with my dad dying and asked you to be a bit more understanding. We had a call last night that he's gone considerably downhill and we literally have hours left now. TWTD is a great break from everything for me at the moment, but unfortunately not from you. I will ask you again, if you have an ounce of decency in your body, please leave me alone and find someone else to poke. | |

Yep, it is indeed annoying. I have a photo of my dad being shorter than his sunflowers that is only on insta, which I've now seemingly lost. He's about to die in the next fews hours, so yeah little things like that are annoying/a real shame (and goes to show one shouldn't rely on saving things virtually). | |

Genuinely, I was just trying to offer advice and explain how it works for the guy- I tried to make it clear to him that while he may not have done anything ‘wrong’ it will have been actioned off the back of something he’s done, even if it’s innocuous and innocent and is just essentially a misread by AI- meaning there will be a way of recovering it, if he can get through to a person at META- the easiest and quickest way being to sign up to their paid service temporarily.
Rarely is one infraction enough to get you blocked from accessing your account but all will be listed by META and the ‘account status’ can be corrected if there has been errors, it’s just a pain in the arse to get through to anyone!
Seems the nuance between ‘doing something wrong’ and ‘something you’ve done’ has been lost in communication, but I’m not trolling.
I use Instagram and other META products everyday for my work and thought it would be helpful. Once I saw Dolly getting frustrated I just withdrew from communicating with him as I’m not interested in conflict. | | | |
