Greaves decision to not run into the space between Sarr and the goal but to instead run at Sarr so that as soon as he took a touch he had a clear sight of goal was possibly the most bizarre bit of defending I’ve seen all season. |  |

We conceded one goal to a palace team that has won 5 of their last 7 beating Villa 4-1, United 2-0, Fulham 2-0, West Ham 2-0.
Does that also apply to Leif given he had an awful game?
Just a stupid over reaction to a player that did very little wrong.
It was a deflected Kamada pass that took it past Greaves and onto an on running Sarr, little he could have done better IMO. [Post edited 8 Mar 17:06]

Phillips and Greaves responsible for that goal not strong enough Phillips and caught wanting Greaves, but a beautifully taken goal,

Earlier on in the season, some of us suggested Greaves was not better than Burgess, at this current time.
A lot of people piled on saying that was nonsense.
I think Greaves can be a lot better, and Burgess is probably.playing at his max, but there is little or not difference currently. [Post edited 8 Mar 17:37]

Definite talent but he seems to put more effort into adjusting the length of his shorts than he does tackling and being strong on the ball.
I know that’s an exaggeration and a little unfair but perception is everything.
My old man used to say to me do you want to look like a footballer or be a footballer. And that definitely applies to Clarke.
He was so easily marshalled by the Palace defenders today and so powderpuff on the ball. He also looked panicky every time he got possession as if he wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Like I say, he has talent but he’s nowhere near this level at the moment.

Agreed. Davis hasn’t been great defensively for the whole time he’s been here, but he’s being exposed by Clarke. Have said before, Burgess must have keyed McKenna’s car to not be starting ahead of Greaves.
Sorry to say that picking Greaves, Muric and to a lesser extent Clarke so much has cost us many points this season and is a large part of why we are likely to get relegated. All 3 players have made numerous mistakes (perhaps Clarke fewer) which have directly resulted in goals/defeats. Poor recruitment IMO. [Post edited 8 Mar 23:54]
