There’s no chance of McKenna going with Hirst and Delap up top, although it couldn’t hurt to try.

He actually spoke about it being very unlikely from the start of a game only yesterday.

Problem is, if you play two up top, where do you take the player from elsewhere in the structure? Depleting the setup behind the strikers will not help on penetration. Leave us relying entirely on long balls. Removing defenders or midfielders is asking for trouble.

Palmer O'Shea - Woolfenden - Greaves Johnson - Phillips - Cajuste - Davis Enciso Delap - Hirst Though, in that formation, I think you'd have to have Enciso at ten over Hutchinson. Plenty of pace on the bench to come on in the second half. I suppose Broadhead would be used as third choice striker.

I've been saying this for months.

I did wonder IF it happened if delap might be tried in the left 10 role so he can invert Instead.

Don't think Enciso is ideal as the link-up man through the middle*. Chaplin (if not injured) or Hutchinson would be better. Plus we'd be stretched at the back if counterattacked down the flanks. * You'd get lots of shots from him, but not so many passes.

If KMc played both Hirst & Delap one would be part of the three behind the striker. Delap, behind Hirst, would cause problems for Defenders

He would, but I just think Delap is more useful closer to the goal.

He’s a bit old - maybe could stick him up front though.
