I think you're missing the point? The most important thing about this chant is it reinforces the home crowd's expectation they should be beating us, and thus gets them more frustrated and the team themselves more nervous. It certainly had that effect on us at home to Southampton.
McKenna is always talking about the importance of silencing the crowd and the fans being a big part of it. Our support away has been magnificent this season with no-one getting on the back of the team despite a gruelling time of it on so many occasions. Have a sense of humour - but also a sense of gamesmanship: goodness knows we've seen it from practically every other team in this crap league (apart from perhaps Man City who simply didn't need those percentages). |  | | |

I think you're missing the point? The most important thing about this chant is it reinforces the home crowd's expectation they should be beating us, and thus gets them more frustrated and the team themselves more nervous. It certainly had that effect on us at home to Southampton.

I wasn’t at the ground. I felt a bit embarrassed as a supporter hearing it loud on the tv after everything that happened to get us here but nothing surprises more than the idiocy of fans who’ve travelled that distance to sing that, must have been plenty of the fans there that chose to sing given how load it was. Depreciation or not, it’s a bit thoughtless and devalues the achievement on the night of the players fighting for 4 wins all season. | |
