How shht must you be, we’re winning away. on 10:08 - Apr 3 by trncbluearmy | No they didn't they were magnificent, sang the whole game and nothing wrong with a bit of gallows humour. |
Yep. That chant isn't for me and I didn't join in. But its not a serious crime, I'm sure the players and staff just take it for what it is. The support last night was superb I thought.

Yep agree , apart from that one song the core 1100 let's call them performed magnificently last night .... forgive snd forget but a further offence and I'm docking away points.... thats a real deterrent!!

How shht must you be, we’re winning away. on 13:40 - Apr 3 with 1759 views | VanDusen | I think you're missing the point? The most important thing about this chant is it reinforces the home crowd's expectation they should be beating us, and thus gets them more frustrated and the team themselves more nervous. It certainly had that effect on us at home to Southampton. McKenna is always talking about the importance of silencing the crowd and the fans being a big part of it. Our support away has been magnificent this season with no-one getting on the back of the team despite a gruelling time of it on so many occasions. Have a sense of humour - but also a sense of gamesmanship: goodness knows we've seen it from practically every other team in this crap league (apart from perhaps Man City who simply didn't need those percentages).

I really don't think the lyrics to songs sung by the away fans make the opposition nervous.

Each to their own. But if the crowd dynamics don't matter why do we all attend? It's about the ebb and flow and the energy does translate to the players. I'm sure our guys don't particularly mind (they're winning a game and that's motivation enough). Particularly in this season and particularly away - they know we're behind them, but they also know the league table doesn't lie and that's what people outside the club are thinking of us, so why not rub their noses in it...

I didn't join in because I don't like songs with swear words but it's self-deprecating and there's nothing wrong with that. As regards the support, the players really showed their appreciation at the end, and McKenna put his hand on his heart as his final gesture to the fans.

How shht must you be, we’re winning away. on 18:09 - Apr 3 with 1314 views | PioneerBlue | I wasn’t at the ground. I felt a bit embarrassed as a supporter hearing it loud on the tv after everything that happened to get us here but nothing surprises more than the idiocy of fans who’ve travelled that distance to sing that, must have been plenty of the fans there that chose to sing given how load it was. Depreciation or not, it’s a bit thoughtless and devalues the achievement on the night of the players fighting for 4 wins all season.

Well I go to watch the game and support my team, but as you say 'each to their own'. The crowd energy and noise helps the team they're supporting (particularly the home team) but I didn't say anything about that. I was responding to the actual lyrics, which you were referring to. You seem to be trying to do the classic TWTD argument of straw-manning. I'll ask again, do you think the players listen to the lyrics of songs and get nervous because of them?

Especially in a season where we've won more away games than we have home games. Idiots, the lot of them.

They are both embarrassing and unnecessary and don't put us in a very good light. My Bournemouth supporting relative at the game wasn't impressed either with the Delia song, Please stop.
