Burnley had something like 48 players either leaving or joining over the summer. Despite the advantages of parachute payments and having good players, it's still not easy to manage that level of churn and create a cohesive team. I'm not sure he's a Prem manager, he's struggled at that level and I expect he'll struggle again, but calling him a fraud is very, very harsh when he's achieved three promotions. It feels like we live in a world nowadays where everything is so polarised and binary and there's no middle ground. Parker is either brilliant or he's a fraud. It's much more likely that he, alongside the vast majority of managers, falls somewhere in the middle and is a good but not top level manager. |  |

By the same token, has he managed a club where he had a chance of staying up. We’ve seen how hard it is, does that diminish our thoughts on McKenna?

Difference between Mckenna and Parker is the fact Parker never managed to take a team marooned in league 1 up to the premiership, having achieved back to back promotions.. so no, I wouldn't say the same about Mckenna, if he isn't able to establish us in the premiership.. | | | |

That's harsh to say the least.
He's been promoted with three different teams at the first attempt. He got relegated with Fulham but they made more of a fist of it than we have this season. Then he was sacked after 4 games in the Premier League with Bournemouth so you can't really judge his capabilities from that.

He doesn't seem to be the nicest fella, but I don't think you can argue with 3 promotions. Lots of clubs have money and all think they should go up, so its still an achievement to be one of the ones who make it. |  |
