A politician could have no moral compass, no strength of character and could well be responsible for their country being seen as a laughing stock - but that’s ok because he upsets some people who they might dislike.

The implementation of the border with the EU has been a nightmare for all with a stake in the supply chain. The previous government, and Farage, had no clue what they were doing or campaigning for, and didn't bother asking anybody that did what the consequences would be should they be successful. | | | |

The Tory ministers had to have explained to them by despised experts what the single market and Customs Union actually was at Chequers one Sunday in the Autumn of 2018. None of them knew.
Nobody knew in 2016 how the border actually worked either. Government didn’t have any idea how stuff moved from A to B, transitional trade, what volumes came to and from the EU (it didn’t have to be recorded) what the impact and consequences of trade barriers might be. They and everybody else didn’t have a clue. It all had to be worked out.
The issue of Northern Ireland was picked up immediately and it was obvious there was only one solution. Stay in the CU and SM. There was no alternative. That alone should have been T May’s get out of jail card, but nope, let’s roll onwards over the cliff utterly blind.
That is what Leavers and Remainers campaigned on. Complete ignorance. The consequences - a rolling economic hit as a direct result of Brexit that will only worsen as people in the EU seek cheaper, easier, risk free markets and ever diminishing relevance in the world.
